This year he quit the Tour a week early and has had more recovery time to get ready for end of season. The question remains whether his undercooked winter will still be a factor.

undercooked winter is the big one, particularly for any stage race or 200+km classic/championship. I think he will have a hard time being himself other than ITTs (perhaps). it's unfortunate and I hope I am wrong.

A better overall palmares for Remco sure. The giro I would say is the best single win of either.

I'd say the combo of the Olympic double and the world TT last year is far better.

It’s a separate race the time trial and road race, how can it be the same event ?

Cunego's giro also was not that impressive. He beat nobody of significance that race. The best rider he beat was his teammate who again flopped in the TDF

If this is your sense of food heirarchy, then I must beg to differ. 😅 At least roast lamb with olive oil, garlic and rosemary, preferably with potatoes roasted in the same oven, if not the same pan.😉

Events can only be events if they have the same participants every time? Festivals are events, yet you‘re not required to take part for their entirety. Or does the term ‚Event‘ only apply when Remco Evenepoel participates in all the competitions?

But the time trial and the road race are different races, how can you group them as one event or result?

He beat Simoni, the winner of 01 and 03 and the most consistent Giro performer in that era. Thats not nobody. BUT that route was probably the worst that I have ever seen, it was an atrocity. If it would be a more normal Giro route, who knows if he would have won.

But this is getting ridiculous. Of course Remco is miles better than Cunego.

Cunego was a great rider man. I also have to say I like the belgien people a lot. Brussels much nicer than it's reputation.

I noticed remco was training at Livigno with his friend Fausto. He will be racing again soon.? Any chances he could help van welder for some results?

Cunegos giro win is not bad at all.
Simoni won the year before and came second the year after.
Garzelli was another giro winner in the top ten.
Honchar 8 time top ten in the giro.

Remco’s Vuelta win- only one gt winner in the top ten, Hindley in tenth. No serious challenger at all.

But it is Cunego’s win that’s weak?
I’ve heard that often about the little goshawk, his giro win was bs. Much better than Remco’s Vuelta…

Remco is the better rider overall, but he hasn’t shown he could beat a rider of Simoni’s calibre over 3 weeks
