Probably. Point was that it doesn't make sense to judge about something when you don't know what happened.
I have to say though, i've watched the recaps, and, well, unfortunately, he does come off as a bit of a brat. Waving at the motorcycle like he's the race director, shouting at other riders... one time he did have a point when Van Wilder (or an other Belgian) responded to Evenepoel's attack, making clear that he shouldn't close the gap at that moment and let the other teams do the work.

I'm sure it's difficult in his position not to get a bit cocky, but he should really tone it down a notch. I've defended him in this regard in the past, but after seeing actual race footage of him, i think there is some truth to it.

I think it was Brian Holm who said something along the lines, that they prefer the young riders to be restrained and quiet.

A year spent getting bottles and helping to pull back breaks will knock the more arrogant edges off him. As has been said before on this thread by numerous people, it is nearly impossible for someone so young who has been so obviously superior throughout his short career to avoid developing a certain arrogance.

He won today the ITT Igor De Craene memorial...
I found a picture in a local news outlet webpage, and he finished ahead of Van Wilder. Can't really find any other information on time differences, distance (30k for espoirs, but nothing on juniors)...
Juniors did 20k

Still can see him losing the worlds if there's 2/3 good enough to suck the wheel and forcing him to do all the work
Sure, the way he rides, that's perfectly possible. I've seen all the recaps of Giro della Lunigiana, and he keeps doing all the work, even when it's up to the other guys. Vacek was strong enough to wheelsuck his way to the final 1k and attack him in the 4th stage (i think). Could easily see something like that happen again. He'll learn sooner or later.

Is he doing that stuff because he's an idiot or because he's deliberately trying to make the races as hard for himself as possible? He already has his pro contract and nothing left to prove in the Junior's. I think the second option is more likely.

I think it might be hubris. The way he reacts when stuff like that happens, makes it clear that he doesn't appreciate it when they take advantage of him (apparently he was pissed at Vacek, and also the Eritrean rider last month who beat him in the sprint after wheelsucking Evenepoel to the finishline).

I don't think he's an idiot, he just isn't familiar with cycling but for the past 16 months.

The best thing he could do for his development in the junior's at this point is probably manouvering up and down the peloton constantly bringing bottles to his teammates. :D

I'm still very worried about his pack riding skills, and I think that could be a major handicap during his first years as an U23/pro.

Wax on, wax off.

Starting in Trofeo Buffoni with Acrog tomorrow, so no national teams this time around. To some extend the finale of the race is comparable to Innsbruck, so we could get a sneak peak of what's to come. Apart from Remco, there are some other big names at the start: Balmer, Pagé, Pattyn, Van Wilder, Martinelli, Piccolo, Rubino, Parisini, Petrucci, Frigo, Vacek, Tiberi, Lev Gonov.

Did he even race? His name isn't on the results list from procyclingstats.
I couldn't find him nor Van Wilder or Vacek either. Which is weird, since they are all on the start list.

Vacek raced in Austria, he won the Junior race of the GP Judendorf (102km of a hilly terrain)
