On the contrary, he seems like a rather nice bloke to me.Entirely possible. TGH has a personality that doesn't make me want to root for him (yet) but I agree he would have had every chance to win at the end.

For me he's the anti-Thomas. I really like the way he's riding, but he just comes off as sooo miserable and always complaining...Entirely possible. TGH has a personality that doesn't make me want to root for him (yet) but I agree he would have had every chance to win at the end.
Well he is most likely happy today, his partner has made the England world cup squad. For me he's the anti-Thomas. I really like the way he's riding, but he just comes off as sooo miserable and always complaining...
Yep, that's what hasn't endeared me to him. Thomas seems like a good dude, pretty funny if rather sardonic. For me he's the anti-Thomas. I really like the way he's riding, but he just comes off as sooo miserable and always complaining...
Feels like the Sagan decline. Still a big name but rarely features at the business end of races although like Sagan winning a Giro stage could have another big moment in him at the Tour.I'm not sure and I may be wrong (I often am), but I think Julian is on a fast decline.
Difference is that Julian is actually still training pretty hard and living like a monk. I wouldn't write him off until we see how he does at TDF and WC.Feels like the Sagan decline. What’s even the point if he’s not doing Tour? If he’s in good enough form to compete well at TDS 2 weeks before the Tour then surely they can’t use the excuse that he doesn’t have enough time to prepare.multiple articles today are saying TDS

No confirmation yet. I wonder what their source is? The only thing that was confirmed is that he won't do the Belgium tour according to the organizers.multiple articles today are saying TDS

By all logic, yes. Especially since he then goes to altitude. However, is this before or during the Tour? In preparation for Worlds? And what if he comes out of TdS red hot? With only 9 days of the Giro previously? That implies no Tour this year.
Any sane person would ride Tour if coming out of TdS red hot in these circumstances. But something something still not the right time, team not prepared, still recovering, past super peak, yadda yadda.By all logic, yes. Especially since he then goes to altitude. They’ll focus on the WC, I don’t expect him to ride the Tour after these messages. He really wants to win the WC TT and possibly the WC again. They believe he’s better after altitude than after the Tour so that’s why they decide not to do the Tour.By all logic, yes. Especially since he then goes to altitude. Indeed, just read the relative CN article. Team issues also a major consideration, although, as is said, one must strike while the iron is hot. They’ll focus on the WC, I don’t expect him to ride the Tour after these messages.
