Schachmann shouldn't be an issue surely. Also I don't think Schachman is the type of rider that does well on the Malhao.

Seems he was doing pretty well and he was the biggest issue Evenepol had this race.

Some people really know sh*t about riding, or even racing a bike.

When a person makes a very questionable statement and then says "some people don't know sh*t", he can't be taken very seriously. Geisterhome is right, in no way you could tell that Remco was the strongest that day.

I agree about Malhao, but arguments like that just go absolutely nowhere typically, even if the person in question is an active or former pro.

The Malhao argument is pretty thin tbh. He wasn't the strongest on the Malhao so he also wasn't the strongest on Alto da Foia? That's a pretty strange train of thoughts.

Good grief who cares re: strongest. He won two stages and finished 3rd on another. He won the GC and beat Dennis in the ITT.

Stage 4 was less favorable for him and he was still there until the end.

Winning GC races is just as much about mitigating time loss as it is gaining time.

The question is: can you use your knowledge to make correct prediction? Will Schachmann be stronger then Remco in Tirreno? Will he be better in the Giro -which is the only thing that really counts?

Anyway, who gives a *** about who was the strongest on any individual day in a stage race when it doesn't effectively change the outcome? That's one of the things that makes this sport exciting, the strongest overall can still lose time on one day or another.

I expect him to be a legit contender for lbl and the olympics this year, not for the Giro.
