Itzulia is always a great race. Jonas away from the Tour is in the ranks of the mortals on his TT bike so I expect Remco to gain an early advantage but he will need a lead ahead of the final stage because Krabelin is a really brutal climb where I expect Vingegaard to demolish everyone.

Remco hasn't been at altitude camp yet so Jonas will win easily.

its far from the finish though

That final stage is more like a CSS, which is Remco's wheel house

True but we have seen the race change course decisively there in the recent past when Roglic wrestled the lead from McNulty with Pogacar on a leash working to try and help keep the GC lead of McNulty.

Did everyone went full gas the whole climb?
Exactly. Pog rode alone and even eased off in the end. Still faster than the group and the others sprinting for the win last year, in worse conditions.

Pog could have gone faster and in better conditions would have smashed the time here even more. It is not really comparable. Two different leagues.

Pogacar slowed down considerably towards the end, he had time to stop the session on his computer early so that Remco could keep the Strava KOM, and then he started to celebrate. While last year the three sprinted for the stage win.

He could easily have beaten Remco's last year time by at least a minute in much worse conditions if he wanted to.
