Vingegaard only just started with altitude training, he probably will just stay at altitude until a couple of days before the start of the TDF, and hope for the best.
It's not even about altitude. It's about what training you do at altitude. Final altitude camp is all about fine tuning and doing race specific training prep normally.

Vingegaard meanwhile still has to start doing serious intensity training.

The differences in communication between the Remco and Vingegaard camps are extreme.
Not really though? It's not like Visma is tooting Vingegaard is in top shape and ready to win another TDF. They are currently hoping he will make the TDF squad. SQS on the other hand is saying Evenepoel isn't ready to compete at the highest level, but are sure he will be in top shape for the TDF.

1 week Dauphine, then 2 weeks in the Alps, NC, and 1 week in Belgium probably.

If he isn’t close to the best riders there, I can’t see him closing that gap. Maybe he starts riding properly in week 3 of the TDF, when it’s too late.

So we may see TDS 2023 Remco dieseling up the mountains to get in shape? The next two months he won the NC RR, the Classica San Sebastian and the WC TT so I am still confident that he can be ready for his important summer races.

he's probably in better shape than he was at Suisse last year.

I think had the medium mountain stages not have been cancelled, he wins that race

The press release said he's "acclimating to altitude" before he starts training at altitude. Acclimation is active sunbathing by comparison so, no. He might be at the Grand Depart hotel but someone else on JV will start.

Well, that’s not exactly true is it? The effect of hypoxia to increase HCT happens even resting so it would make sense to go even if not training hard. Not to mention the altitude thing we can’t mention here:

Didn’t some rider recently say “calories are calories” when it comes to fueling during training and racing?
Could be, not sure. It's just that sugar isn't the issue, fats are. A cake even though there is probably some butter in it, is mostly made with sugar, flour and eggs. So there's no issue with it. They eat a lot of pastries anyway.

At the moment I'm not sure who is joking, and who really thinks eating cake is an issue.

For a healthy person including an athlete, balancing caloric intake with effort is the only thing that really matters except of course the usual proteins, fast sugars and fluids to perform optimally during the day of a sports event. All those "JV diets" are either marketing stuff or give the resemblance of control while in practice there is no real science behind it. It may have a "feel good" placebo effect for those that want control but those that enjoy the idea of eating cake after a hard training effort may perform worse if they are confronted with a harsh diet.

What's a JV diet?
