He should move to Nice and train with Matteo.
The guy has so many things in his toolbox, he has excellent speed, great power, he has good instincts about keeping a wheel so you don't see him making lots of dumb mistakes. He is an outstanding time trail rider and I don't know if old mythical trade offs still hold true, so will a dramatic increase in climbing per month knock the edges off his speed. Many believed ( still do?) that climbing makes you slower on the flats or sprinting, I hope Remco can trade blows with the best in TDF mountain stages. TDF looks like a box of mystery chocolates!!

Seeing images in Jonas thread, Remco should keep away from Visma. They don't feed their riders, unless i guess they win the Tour? Anyway.

So out of Rogla, Pogi and Jonas who do you reckon Remco has the biggest chance of beating at the Tour 2025?
Odds as of today.

Well, obviously he must increase while the others must decrease, or else his best will be third again. However, cycling is a strange bird with mechanicals and crashes. The important thing is to raise the climbing level and ad astra. At any rate, we'll know more after the Dauphine, with a caveat. Thus far Remco has been hampered by serious injury in a season planned for the Tour. The incredibile thing about this generation is that there is so much young talent chomping at the bit. I expect him to show better signs, however, as regards his preparation at the Dauphine. Despite his broken bones and mind over the winter, his prep should be better than last year.

I see. More or less for all participants of this mini poll, Rogla a no brainer, then some split decision still left in between Pogi and Jonas. Duly noted.

P.S. I voted for Rogla too.

I don't understand quickstep. I understand there are constant rumours. But that's part of the game.
Don't they realize constantly answering reporters their questions about the transfer rumours and saying stuff about contracts only put more emphasis on it all. Just keep quiet, and handle that stuff indoors.

Strange to see those trade rumors surface. Does QS want out now that they realize Remco isn't going to really challenge Pogi at the Tour?

They resurface every year, over and over again, all year long. Nothing weird about it really.
