Agree, we don't have to debate this. But how many times has Jasper's won sitting on others wheels? That's what he does.I disagree for a number of reasons. In any case Wellens won and Remco got 2nd. Up next is the Tour.

But it is a fact Philipsen didn't work with Remco and still got dropped. So Phillipsen really did a perfect race tactically. This is not a opinion, this a fact. If he wasn't able to hang on without working, how the hell would he be able to follow Remco while working with him?I disagree for a number of reasons. In any case Wellens won and Remco got 2nd. What?the race was determined by Philipsen decision to completely shadow Remco.
He, himself said when Wellens attacked he couldn't follow. Now it's understood why, but being an UAE rider must have added salt to the wound.I can’t fathom why you’re trying to make so much of this? He didn’t try to follow Wellens when he went; he wasn’t going to chase every attacker. You want to proclaim Remco isn’t very strong/psychologically capable, etc—just wait a couple of weeks.
But Remco said he couldn't react immediately.Yes and no.
The first gap Wellens got (on Remco) was because of tactical reasons when Remco chose (wrongly in hindsight) to not react immediately. But afterwards Wellens did prove to be very strong by only gaining time on the chasers.
I don't think Remco has any illusions about the strength of Pogacar and his UAE team. Wellens already showed a very high level in the Dauphiné.
Remco had just attacked, got shadowed by Phillipsen. Allowed himself and Phillipsen to get held back in 2nd part of split front group. Hence why he could not respond immediately. Needed a minute to recuperate from his own attack, then get back to first part of the split group. When Remco started chasing after Wellens, Wellens had already been allowed 30+ seconds. In part cause of Wellens strenght, in part cause of timing of the attack, in part cause of people being focused on Remco and trying to eat his plate. But Remco said he couldn't react immediately.
I don't think he cares it's a UAE rider. That's something some fans care about but not the riders themselves. He, himself said when Wellens attacked he couldn't follow. Now it's understood why, but being an UAE rider must have added salt to the wound.
It should be a good team for the first ten days.
Eenkhoorn as bodyguard. Merlier and Van Lerberghe to help in the stages that don't end in a flat sprint. Cattaneo and Schachmann for the hilly stages.
In the mountains a lot will depend on the level of Van Wilder and Paret-Peintre not to get isolated too quickly.
I don't know. Van Wilder has always shown that when he needs to be ready to support Evenepoel in a GT, he is ready. VPP we don't really know.I trust Cattaneo in the mountains more than I do the other two
Okay, good to know. He, himself said when Wellens attacked he couldn't follow. Now it's understood why, but being an UAE rider must have added salt to the wound.
I was thinking that if Pogacar beats Vingegaard by more than 2-3min this TDF, Visma should try to get Evenepoel so they have 2 leaders and could use a different approachWiggins thinks Evenepoel has the potential to win the TDF but he will need to change teams.

"Laatste Belgische Tourwinnaar" Wiggins raadt Remco Evenepoel aan van team te veranderen: "Om hoger niveau te halen" | sporza
Het BK wielrennen was een goeie laatste test voor Remco Evenepoel met het oog op de Tour de France. Bradley Wiggins is onder de indruk van het wapenarsenaal van de olympische kampioen, maar hij vreest dat zijn team niet sterk genoeg is om hem ooit naar Tourwinst te leiden. Not at all the race was very very positive with many people attacking, including the favorites.I couldn't watch the race. Was Jasper's attitude that nasty towards Remco?

Maybe he could eventually lose that elusive 2kg, and become a climber.Visma will offer Remco a fortune but he will say "no". Reason? Starvation camps with Vingegaard on Teide.

Like most successful sprinters.Agree, we don't have to debate this. But how many times has Jasper's won sitting on others wheels? That's what he does.
Jorgenson has much more upside and that's why he got the 3 year contract. Still think he'd be better on Bora and get Primoz to lead him out....gradually. Although that new Tour kit would be the deal breaker, for sure.Visma will offer Remco a fortune but he will say "no". Reason? Starvation camps with Vingegaard on Teide.
