Just cause i now got a bit invested. I went down the rabbit hole.

I've got 32 riders i would currently put ahead of Remco (not in order) based on my own subjective thought process.
And beyond that about a dozen or more that i would put around remco level. But for various reasons i can't quite put ahead of remco but also not completely below remco atm).

Like I said, i feel Remco still has a lot of work cut out for him to finish between Top 10-25. But it's not impossible.

Binda, Botecchia, Gaul, Bobet, Koblet, Bettini should all be above Remco, but he should overtake a few of those.

If you still believe that the title, which was made when Remco was 17 or 18, is meant seriously in the way that he’s on the same level as Merckx you are either not able to understand basic hyperbole or you do in fact come into this thread in bad faith.

Some of them seem to believe if his career had gone a different way that he had the talent to be there, lots of evidence of that in this thread.
I’ve said many times I don’t dislike Remco, just don’t like the constant excuses of why he’s having a bad season.

He is certainly on pace. Hopefully he doesn't burn out and can stay healthy for the next several years.

Why don’t you go and ask for other thread titles to be changed?

You can start with “The official Wilco Kelderman is the new Merckx-thread”.
Then you can campaign that Enric Mas isn’t actually a rising star anymore, that Olav Koij isn’t actually a cheetah and that Jan Christen isn’t actually the love child of Mathieu and Wout.

Or you can just accept that hyperbole is being used and that thread titles shouldn’t be changed just because you don’t find it factual correct.

That is of course all right. I don’t have a problem at all with what you think about Remco. However, I have a huge problem with you making up things like “Remco fans believes X and Y” and then you can’t back it up because no one ever said (in this forum) what you claim they believe.
In my eyes that is trolling.

But Remco fans believe Remco could've done better, hadn't it been for all those crashes and bad luck.
