I am in Brussels and I am walking around telling anyone who listens that remco is a Belgian cunego and that quickstep does the right thing to focus on merlier. Could anyone remco fanatics recommends mea good place for a lunch? Thanks
Been too long since i really walked around in Brussels regularly.

As for Evenepoel being a Belgian Cunego, unless i slept on Cunego's World and Olympic titles, as well as his Tour podium, i will assume in this context "Belgian" means "far superior to Italian". But i agree, good thing SQS will focus on Merlier, since they no longer have Evenepoel to focus on. A good thing for all involved.

Don't forget to plan a trip to In De Rustberg in Schepdaal.

Damiano -Giro , 3 monuments
Remco - Vuelta, 2 monuments + worlds

Remco = Damiano , Damiano = Remco

Tbf, that final week from Cunego was impressive, 4th on the Disneylandis stage, 2nd on Alpe d'huez behind Fränk the Tank and top 10 in a 57km ITT.

Yeah, he got resurrected that week while Fothen lost gas.

But Cunego is of course also famous on here for having lost that Tour de Suisse to Leipheimer in the ITT.

Remco can win a flat Olympics, can he dance away to Bormio 2000? Finish second on the alpe?
The little goshawk is the superior gc racer 🇮🇹
So you question that Remco could climb better than Honchar and Cioni, 5 seconds behind the littke goshawk's Bormio win?

Cunego had the yips. Remco might be affected by stress every now and then but not to Cunego level.

Tour of Britain in 10 days. What can we expect? Anyone got any clues?

Yes, that's what he meant. But last year he casually swept the Olympics -Cunego style- after doing the Tour and before taking a rest en route to Britain. This year he quit the Tour a week early and has had more recovery time to get ready for end of season. The question remains whether his undercooked winter will still be a factor.

undercooked winter is the big one, particularly for any stage race or 200+km classic/championship. I think he will have a hard time being himself other than ITTs (perhaps). it's unfortunate and I hope I am wrong.

Nice little reference to the goshawk there, love that
