I suspect thats what Froome is doing. He looks like a fruitarian and pedals like one - smooth and can always push harder.

Fruit diet is the ultimate performance diet. Thing is logistics. Try feeding 9 riders 7-10 000calories a day of ripe fruit.

Reality is the worlds best athletes get most of their calories from simple sugars. Fruit is the most nutrient dense source of simple sugars.

I rode 6190km in Jan. More climbing than the TDF. Not a SINGLE mg of caffeine or any other stimulant. Recovered each day strong as. Rode with a power meter and did testing before and after. Put a fruitarian rider on the peptide,EPO, BB and hormones that our GC hitters are and you will see the next evolution of cyclist/runner.

Fruit diet INSTANTLY increases anyones watts per kg as it is so low in sodium and high in potassium you hold less salt retention. Froome could lose more weight if he was fruitarian. Hold the same wattage. Id say at least 3-4kg.

Its interesting stuff. Certainly cant Ride a bike far and fast with a Keto diet !!!! lol. Obviously as Cyclists we eat **** loads of carbs. Ive read a couple of hints from athletes including Froome that point to this vegan fruit approach. Froome himself had a link to an article on Kenyan runners diets on his twitter page. Always been interested in nutrition. Grew up with older brother bodybuilding and saw the drugs and diet he used. Always interested in diet/training /drugs that increase peformance. Certainly an interesting subject !. By the way your YouTube vids are superb. Keep it up !. Enjoy the Tour.

Please tell me you weren't climbing in any of those locations in your bio?

Not that it isn't impressive. It is. But those locations aren't known for mountainous terrain Down Under.

Edit: I will talk with my friend (dietitian) about going pro as a fruitarian tomorrow. She always has some insight I tend not to think of. For the record, she mentioned tonight she took one look at the Tour (huge emphasis on Froome) and knew it was a whole new level of doping. Sky ain't fooling anyone with a brain that works properly.

Correction. Meant today. Can't sleep. Stupid cold. Free tip people. Don't exercise hard when you have a cold. Makes you worse.

So Froome is smooth on the bike but could drop a few kg's. Riiight.
Come on, the only point of that post was to talk about yourself in another thread.

There is nothing more ridiculous than today's Saxo team display. I think you named the thread wrong.

Bunk.

Omega and Belkin opened the initial gap. Saxo hid from the wind, at first, then rode hard. They didn't open a gap that was beyond belief. One minute or so in the chasers is hardly ridiculous.

The is the second time this tour that Sky has looked completely average, by ProTour standards.

SKY and Froome will have a magical transformation on the Ventoux. Froome said today time will be lost then by others? They know whats in store for the contenders. And they are arrogant enough to tell you it's coming.

Hope Bert and the rest bury them!

Sounds like the stage is set for a full alien performance on Sunday. Maybe some more time lost tomorrow. Pretty sensible strategy. What year is this again?

The way the stage is going to be run, there might be more dreaded crosswinds on the run-in to Ventoux. Once they hit Ventoux, Bert's got nothing compared to Froome Dog.

Red meat makes me sick now. My body doesn't like digesting it. All kinds of weird things happen. Worse, I have only majorly changed my diet this year.

Durian's body would not cope if he ate red meat. Would not go down well at all.

Even for 8 years old, on flat, 2 minutes / 37 minutes is 5-6%, grosso modo, not that you can calculate anything on flat.

EnacheV, Congratulations wfor posting the most embarrasing clueless post of this TdF yet!

I advise Football. That's a bit easier. Just kick the round thing in the rectangle with a net. Those who do this the most win. Relatively no physics involved and you can just go rahrahrah with your compatriots. No critical thinking needed.

Oh that's cute. I'm not crying btw. :D

How does one slay another Indonesian abattoir style? Sounds educational!!

If Durian comes back to this thread...I did have some points my dietitian friend brought up regarding muscle fatigue ketosis and malnutiriton. As well as long term body mineral composition. But this is pro cycling! It's about living on the edge!

Don't you think Fruitarian Froome has a nice ring to it?

Will he beat the Alpe dhuez record? Probably not but it would be hillarious

He'll have taken another two minutes in the time trial by then, he'll probably be told to just wheelsuck until the last 500m and just sprint for the win to save energy with two tough days to follow.

Expert? I am not. I don't pretend to be one. But every time I see breakdowns (watts/kilos and the likes),and read what experts (the real ones, not me) write about Cadel's performance, it really seems like the guy is clean.

His performances are plausible (according to the VAM gurus) - doesn't mean he is clean.
Back in the day it was believed a hematocrit level of 50% was plausible so everyone was just below. Some naturally others not.

any CON-mmentaries from the Sky camp on FroomeStrong smashing the competition "clean" on Mont Ventoux?

Froome thread. IMHO, Johann Brailsford is doing well deflecting. He's re-spinning the "you can't prove a negative" and adding a bit more life into it compared to Armstrong.

Good times.
