Sad day when we quote Ferrari for evidence of clean cycling! The guy just recieved a lifetime ban from cycling!

And of course Basso is confused. Doesn't know what he he's talking about.

If the team carrying the 3rd place holder is stating the pace is too fast to attack when Porte is riding on the lower slopes then you know something is up.

The question remains... what is that something?

no, Franklin suggested Ferrari was publishing performance estimates indicating doping, which is false.

Re Basso, Berzin dismantled your interpretation in the other thread.

So don't listen to Ferrari because he is banned but listen to Basso because he was also banned? Also from a previous post you said Wiggins should also listen to Richard Virenque. Now I remember him being involved with some incident with Festina?

Basso isn't banned. He admitted to his doping.

He's seen both sides of the fence. I know you guys want to call Basso a lair and a cheat but he really doesn't fit that mould does he? And you'd sound like those Lance fanboys if you did.

Ferrari has admitted to nothing and as we know is still to this day doping his athletes.

I know who I believe.

Has Phil L said "we are witnessing something special today" yet?

13 minutes into last years winner. 9 minutes into VDB on a pancake flat Tour de France course.

Never see anything like it in all my days.

Incredible.

He was banned though, wasn't he? And did he admit to doping or just 'attempting' to dope?

You could read into what Basso says in numerous ways yet you portray it as fact that he is calling Sky dopers. And where did I previously call him a liar?

Actually, I have no problem with Basso. He cheated and then served his ban and that is that as far as I am concerned.

I also like the way you throw out the 'You sound like a Lance fanboy' as well just because someone calls you on your posts.

I'm glad we agree on Ivan. He's a nice guy. I think has seen it all.

So when he makes an observation of the unusual performances of Sky we should take note.

He's makes an interesting point. It's good discussion point and agree with you it shouldn't be dismissed as some others would like.

Thanks for the support and keep up the good posts.

Throwing stones is fun to some. It's their life, while others prefer other things. Test of character.

Some pass; some fail. And this is the test of life that counts, not a bike race, because it will endure.

Three out of the top five. Too bad Rogers was not ordered to take it easy so it did not look even more ridiculous.

Next up. Cav wins the Olympic RR, which was specifically designed for him. Wiggins wins the Olympic ITT. A bit later Wiggins wins the Worlds ITT.

Heck, maybe Wiggins or Froome or Porte will enter the Vuelta for training and win that as well.

In similar sporting news, Rey Misterio made his triumphant return this past week, and Daniel Bryan and AJ are getting married.

Wheee, I can make off-the-wall links!

You and TheHog have a similar approach to predictions. Pick something that has a decent chance of happening.

i) Cav fastest sprinter in the world and given a course that will suit him for the Olympics RR.
ii) Wiggins second in last WC ITT so probably a reasonable chance he could win Olympic ITT or WC ITT esp. since Tony Martin has been plagued with injuries.

Then if it does happen pat each other on the back and agree it is clearly doping.

You know the thing that strikes me about that is that only one of them is smiling. And I notice that some people seem to be happy about winning (Evans and his stuffed lions, and Voeckler spring to mind) and others seem miserable as sin.

I love clean cycling.

I think next year we need a Canadian winner. Then a South African winner.

Let's globalise cycling.

French guys win stages.

Not sure how to deal with the Spanish but we'll work that out.

They have already been doing this. Last four GTs.

First Australian TDF winner.
Froome and Wiggins mess up with their gearing while on their way to winning the Vuelta.
First Canadian GT winner. (Giro)
Frist British TDF winner.

Three out of four. All English speaking. All new countries. There are big sponsorship dollars keeping the winner speaking English. This is a more effective way to globalize the sport than putting a stupid stage race in China.

Next up, Fumi Beppu has a Sky-like transformation and wins the Vuelta.
