p.s. Dr. Maserati, of course I think he doped. I can't imagine anything I've ever said here that would lead you to believe I'm some sort of believer in the myth. All my comments are about what can be proven legally, what people (other than us) will believe, what will sway the opinions of the general public and cancer victims and all that stuff.

I know you think LA doped - you think "everyone" dopes and everyone who has a low HCT should be allowed dope, don't worry I know your opinions.

But do you seriously think the 'general public' or cancer victims have to wait on Judge & jury to make up their minds?
No - what "sways" people opinions is reading well produced articles from respectable publications like SI.

Not saying it's not true, but if he and the team were that incredibly insouciant about doping, it's surprising they weren't busted years ago like the others.

I always thought that if any of the allegations were true, the reason he stayed clear had to be a much more discreet and professional regime than this sort of thing.

I think the first reason was that, after the Festina affair, there was no way in hell Hein Verdruggen was going to allow another team to get busted. He wasn't going to let cycling (and his wallet) take a hit that would likely have buried the sport.

No one was accusing stephens. He is too thick to figure out that people are talking about The Comeback Kid.

I was not referring to "Stephens" at all. Don't know why you'd assume that. I was however referring to "TheComeBackKid" just to be clear.

christ I just threw up a little in my mouth on this thought from the article.

Not that crap again. I am no one's alias. I've been here as long as you have. Stephens is my real name. I'll provide a first name and phone number for anyone who PMs me. Please do not get me banned by making false accusations that I am a previously banned member.

I'm not accusing you of being anyone's alias. I do not want to get you banned. I do not want your name and phone number.

You may prove right. I just suspect there is a tremendous, "He was always cool to me," contingent out there - people who have met Lance (as a celebrity) and actually liked him (unlike those who have to "work" with him) or have some connection to the cancer thing and got something out of his organization and don't really even care about the cycling. I think these folks are going to need a lot more than articles like this before the turn on the guy.

BTW, you're right about my opinions on EPO: can you write me a prescription? I'm feeling a little worn down!

56! We now know that Armstrong was rockin' the same hematocrit as Bjarne Riis.

I've seen the full article. A few things stand out.

Ferrari actually warned Armstrong that he's drug taking was massive and it could cause his cancer to come back!

The raid on Popos house in Italy netted not only drugs but notebooks similar to what Landis had which links Ferrari to Armstrong to Discovery and Radiohack. It's lists the drugs to be taken on what days.

Catlin gets a massive bashing. 4 pages dedicated to just how useless he is. It's suggests that his firm is to advise on how to pass the tests not on independent testing.

To the question was it watered down? Yes. In a big way. But it will be enough. Next stop Kimmage.

I'm sorry but Senor Sixty was at the peak of his unmatched powers during his Tour win. And he survived to run a pro team.

So...regarding HemAssit: So Armstrong possibly had access to a substance which didn't work and therefore isn't a PED. Got it. Thanks for the clarification.

Baxter pulled the drug because the mortality rate was several times more than other blood-substitute products, not because it wasn't effective in raising hct.

We all know he doped. We all know they all do.

No, they don't *all* dope. I don't dope, and frankly I was going faster than LA 3 months before the tour.

Keep going. Just a couple more and you can yell "BINGO"!

So so bitter. Have you ever had a positive post towards anything? Posted a link to something new? Started an interesting conversation? Or just insult people?

Nope.

Bet he is one of the guys, when figured out his god Armstrong was found doped, claiming "everyone dopes" (but it is of course so much worse if/when Contador takes the juice).

I just finished reading the whole thing as well. What was honestly most shocking to me was at the very end of the article where they wrote about Armstrong actually taunting Novitzsky via Twitter. That is most certainly what Mr. Shakespeare would call "hubris" and that kind of arrogance pretty much always leads to a downfall. So I'm thinking Armstrong is Macbeth as he's very strong in the "purely evil and power mad" department but of course it was Hamlet who had the mommy complex...

i haven't finished the full article yet but that bit, taunting novi, is not as astounding to me as to you. armstrong's utter arrogance and obnoxiousness have been the leading cause for my dislike of him.

i've long grown to expect from him any acts of defiance even if poorly advised.

otoh, if this arrogance accelerated his downfall, so much the better !!!

I think the Ferrari link will be what breaks the camel's back. The fact that he was no longer seeing him for Comeback 2.0 speaks volumes. Couple that with the Catlin program and its now a premeditated scheme to throw off the unsuspecting public and media. He was never going to use Catlin. He was going to keep using Ferrari and no one is going to defend the good doctor. The Feds have obviously linked Popo to Ferrari and Ferrari to the drugs and the drugs to Armstrong. Its going to be hard to deny that one and sink Ferrari. Because if he throws the Doc under a bus the Italian Prosecutors will pounce.

Most of I'm just lovin him taking some heat from the aussie media. Didn't think they had it in them.

Funny how with the same hematocrit number, Riis won the Tour while Armstrong was just another rider who couldn't finish in the top 25.

"The story is filled with old news, recycling the same old tired lies from the same old tired liars".

I don't know about that - seems to me there are a few new lies from some new liars.

Watered down maybe, but after the roller coaster of maybe they will/maybe they won't I think SI has done a reasonable job of exposing Lancey-poo's little system. What they didn't/couldn't print this time around will surely come out sooner or later. Maybe they stayed away from exposing the Livestrong scam?

According to CN.com, Lance is starting to show a little stress. Must be tough for our little hero not control the situation anymore.

I agree with another earlier comment - if this is what SI has, I would love to see Novitsky's file.
