I wonder how much more damning the article could've been. RR is there any manner in which I can persuade you to disclose some of the left out bits, at least jsut to me :p

Also funny that everytime I look at Dutch news site the information about the article becomes more prominent and the wording in the title more damning about Armstrong.

It started as a small line somewhere saying that Armstrong wasnt phased about the new allegations.
And now t is at the front of the sports pages and the first article you see on the front pages concerning sports with statements like:
New allegations about Armstrong: Ferrari possibly linked to Radioshack team

Armstrong under fire: wanted to enjoy his last race, but as of today that appears like a lost dream

Armstrong retained relationship with Ferrari

Front page of one of the more higher class papers
Magazine that normally favours Armstrong alleges doping of Armstrong

One of the bigger sportspapers
Armstrong is THE instigator of doping

Nope.

Bet he is one of the guys, when figured out his god Armstrong was found doped, claiming "everyone dopes" (but it is of course so much worse if/when Contador takes the juice).

No mis amores. Not a fan of the man - go back and read my posts - Swordsman I have a family and a job but when i have time I have started discusions. Not a fan of my countryman Contador either.

The most suprising part of the SI article for me, was Popovych having PED's and notebooks in his house just 2 short months ago. Exactly how stupid would you need to be to do that given the Feds are investigating your fearless team leader?

The mind boggles!

I do find the most interesting part the bits about the HemAssist.

So when they developed a test for EPO, Lance sourced and found a new HBOC to use .... I know its banned - but was there a test for it then?

And that is the part where he may come unstuck legally. If there is a trail of any kind (and there must be if SI got hold of it), and Novitsky follows it, there are substantial legal implications for all involved in the misuse of a drug undergoing clinical trials (or not approved).

this isnt just about PED's .... this is about supply of illegal drugs.

The Ferrari thing has some pretty wide implications as far as his reputation goes too.

And the USOC/Catlin stuff - that is going to go down well with the IOC and the Americal public.

I looked at the forum yesterday and thought the SI article had been gutted of anything interesting, I return today to find a bomb's gone off! Did someone mention that Kimmage/the Sunday Times has got an article in the offing, if so when's it due out?

Yikes! CNN interview with David Epstein

http://amfix.blogs.cnn.com/2011/01/...w-doping-allegations-against-lance-armstrong/

Actual quote about indictment was I believe in the Special Report video linked with the SI summary - she said that IF an indictment would be handed down it would probably be just before or after the Super Bowl
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vi...oberts_armstrong.SportsIllustrated/index.html

One quote from the article:

I lost a lot of respect for CNN on this one.

Lance's statement was also false. Here's a quote from the original SI article text.

"It is unclear if the grand jury will decide to issue an indictment (all grand jury proceedings are secret), but the inquiry's findings may cause the Armstrong faithful to ask, Was the miracle a mirage?"

This is scary stuff for the Armstrong camp.

The interviewer at the end tried spinning the "Well he's done so much good. It's okay to lie and cheat." Which is probably going to be the opinion of the general public.

Sometimes I forget this forum doesn't apply to all cyclists or fans for that matter. Which sucks big time.

I have not been provided with either letter or any of the other materials referred to in the Sports Illustrated story, thus I do not have the context to provide appropriate comment at this time,” he told VeloNation. “Without them and without any of the data from that time period, it is not possible to provide any insight into the situation or to provide specifics on any of the analysis performed.”

So the LA Foundation doesn't donate any of the money for research? That's a pretty ****ty cancer charity then.

It's all about RAISING AWARENESS for the yellow clad NPOseurs in Austin.

(Gee, that was cancer I've been diagnosed with three times? Thanks Wonderboy, I did not know that.)

I first heard about this 7-8 years ago. I have posted it various times, only to be attacked by groupies. Nice to see the excellent work by Selena and David. As interesting as the article will be keep in mind it is very watered down after months of threats and harassment by Wonderboy's hired toads.

Time for Cobble to get a new avatar.

Rrrrradio, you are really funny !

You didn't confirm the deal like real man do it when I asked for it on Friday last week. That was on 14., and I now know that you actually noticed my offer. Without reaction and confirmation.
Now you want me to have a Floyt avatar ? lol

Besides that you again weren't sure what will happen few hours before THE article finally came out after all (which doesn't look like highly censored), telling us: all hard work down toilet, total censored down version (or not :D) there will be something about money (or not :D ), bla bla

Hardly. Some of us have seen many of the same things RR has been detailing for a while.

No following or blindness exists when I saw some of this garbage RR has shared for myself.

Good call sir. Someone having a WTF moment down there in TX.

:D

Yes just like everything it takes time I guess.

At the time I wrote that it was being talked about around here as if the story had once again been killed.

No worries because I had to laugh at myself on that one also. :D

I think the person with a WTF moment was Lance when he was either linked to the story in SI online or when his Blackberry alarm was in panic because of all the hits his name was getting during the drop of the story.

The view of a large portion of the American public for decades now seems to be that it is OK to cheat, as long as you cheat to win. The biggest and best-remembered sports scandal in US sport is the Black Sox affair, where a team deliberately lost the baseball World Series in 1919 for gambling purposes. The team was vilified and disgraced because they cheated to LOSE. With the exception of scapegoat Barry Bonds, an easy target thanks to his Cuddles-esque media skills, persecution complex, and maybe even the colour of his skin, the steroid-fuelled home-run kings of the 90s are largely still held to be heroes because although they cheated, they cheated to win. The same holds true with Lance: he may have cheated, but he cheated to win, and stick it to those damn Frenchies, so he is still a hero.
