Wouldn't that make him 3 minutes behind Savoldelli before the penultimate stage?

but savoldelli was long dropped. simoni was virtual pink until they bought lotto's help

Hehe, exactly. To defend is always was easier than to attack. Rujano must attack so much as no one ever attacked in GT's to get top-3.

no i watched it very attentively. :) i might be wrong. ) that's my vision.

it's clear you haven't seen the giro 2005 at all. also it's hilarious that you think you know more about rujano than me

he forced the attack on the finestre. after that simoni and di luca took over. he did not wheelsuck at all. in sestrieres he dropped simoni like a stone and he was simply the best climber there and nearly won the giro in that final stage. he also had not a single bad day. some bad luck yes. but was very strong
Di Luca pulled for nearly 15 kms on Finestre... While Simoni and Rujano just followed him. I daresay Rujano was stronger than Simoni that day... but probly Di Luca was better.

check the beginning of the finestre. it was all rujano. he dropped almost everyone with his attack, especially savoldelli

I did say 15 kms instead of 18 in fact. I know Rujano was the one beginning the attack.

But last year, same stage, he was not as strong. Kiriyenka who had been in the break all day, was putting time into him.

So you are going to say he was ill, but then, that could happen again.

that's because kiry was extraterrestrialy strong that day.

still rujano was god on finestre, attacking 3-4 times like marco and putting 1'40'' on the favourites group who rode at a high pace(if you think that's a lie ask kreuziger and nibali lol).by the way rujanito was 1'20'' faster than in 2005 on finestre when they also rode like possessed, especially killer.so no doubt rujano was good that day,too bad finestre was followed by a descent and false flat where he lost a lot of time:eek::(

in my opinion the only things which can stop rujanito winning this year's giro:crash, getting ill big time, some echelons in denmark, the cops, robobasso.hopefully no one of this will happen(ok i wish a little bit of robobasso:))

I wish Rujano will place well - he deserves for all the excitement he gives to us all those years, but there is too many flat (and probably cold) stages + in mountains too little of the real steep stuff where he rides so well and can get more time... the odds are against him I'm afraid.
I vote Kreuziger - the route suits him very well and he got much better from last year.

rujano doesn't need steep climbs at all. look no further than etna last year. the strong point is that everything is in the 3rd week. where rujano is the strongest and every mountainstage has multiple hard mountains in it. which means he will throw with minuted as he and his team won't wait for the final climb.

Well, I will wish him all the best ;)

Talk about the 2005 Giro is amusing because almost everyone forgets that had he not had bad gastro problems on Stages 13 and especially 14, Ivan Basso was well on his way to dominating the entire Giro.

And now 7 years later, Basso will emerge as a zombie and dominate the giro?

My predictions for each stage.
Giro D Italia

Stage 1- Jack Bobridge- Geraint to finish just behind
Stage 2- Mark Cavendish
Stage 3- Arnaud Demare
Stage 4- BMC
Stage 5- Mark Cavendish
Stage 6- Thomas De Gendt ( hopefully )
Stage 7- John Gadret ( or maybe Hesjedal )
Stage 8- Damiano Cunego
Stage 9- Matt Goss
Stage 10- JROD
Stage 11- Renshaw
Stage 12- Enrico Battaglin ( he will own on the descent )
Stage 13- Matt Goss
Stage 14- Roman Kreuziger ( tested it out )
Stage 15- Jose Rujano. Debated as to whether to have Pozzovivo.
Stage 16- Filippo Pozzato
Stage 17 – Michele Scarponi
Stage 18 – Sandy Casar/ Thor Hushovd- to either win from break/ sprint.
Stage 19 – Frank Shleck
Stage 20- Ivan Basso- who wins the overall after this.
Stage 21- Gustav Erik Larsson

Overall GC.

Basso, Scarponi, Rujano- to top 3.

Kreuziger, Frank, JROD, Gadret- to fight for top 7 but in that order ( for my prediction ).

Gadret won't get a stage but will take out the overall win, and by doing so will give Ag2r their one win of the season.

The damage to the space time continuum caused by an Ag2r rider winning something will cause Mt Vesuvius to experience a mega-eruption wiping out all of Italy.

you are a fan. I will laugh hard after 3 weeks to see kreuziger stumble. I think he's an overrated idiot, of whom I already made lots of money by laying his sorry a** in tirreno, trentino, romandie and other races
Do you know who overrates Roman maybe most? It's YOU nad nobody else. And of course everybody knows, who is idiot...and who not.

A Gadret victory would be pretty epic :p

He just hates Kreuziger because he called Rujano's performance suspicious. Just ignore it.

no. not at all. that makes him an idiot in my opinion. and overrated rider I've named him many times before last years giro. everyone can recall that

Tiralongo will top 5 after winning up stelvio, Rujano who tried to follow him, met the wall so hard that he finished 22 min after Tiralongo, loosing the pink jersey to Basso

He's not over-rated. He has stagnated yes, but not over-rated as no one expects him to win this Giro. Well, very few people do ;)
