He's not over-rated. He has stagnated yes, but not over-rated as no one expects him to win this Giro. Well, very few people do

I think you are overrating Tiralongo a bit if you think its possible he can get a top 5.

I am not saying it is likely, but he will go into this giro as one of the 10 best climbers (if you ask me) and alot can happen in 21 days

Terrible rides by Gadret and Scarponi, Frank actually did pretty good in my opinion, lost no more than 30 seconds to any GC rider, Basso has to be in the driving seat now though, Garmin for the TT win?

uran rode a horrible first part and very strong 2nd part. it's ashame he was porbably sao afraid by the crash in the corners.

I'd put Pozzovivo at around the point where the good performances turn into bad ones. Of those, Basso was clearly the one who had it best (also Hesjedal, if we count him as a contender), followed by Urán and Kreuziger.

Great ride by Basso, really didn't espect a good performance from him, especially with all the corners of the first part.
Instead he gained 20 sec on Frank, and almost 30 second on Scarponi.
Great way to start!
