Apparently the Sky rumours were swearling around the Tour presentation along with what I assume would compose his support riders.

Support riders with him? Reichenbach to Sky would cause Kirby to sh#t himself.MatParker117 said:Apparently the Sky rumours were swearling around the Tour presentation along with what I assume would compose his support riders.

No, it wouldn't be.Moviefan1203 said:MatParker117 said:Apparently the Sky rumours were swearling around the Tour presentation along with what I assume would compose his support riders.
I don’t know if I buy the rumors, but going to Sky for two years would be really good for his career.
Absolute nonsense. Even if those transfers were true they wouldn't be his support riders but Froome's.MatParker117 said:perico said:Support riders with him? I was referring to the rumoured arrival of Amador and the Izagirre brothers.

As I wrote earlier on this thread, he has the potential, he doesn't have to learn anything but he's frail. The Sky training regime and in-team competition would drain him both physically and mentally. Plus he's at the age where he's going to be peaking soon - don't waste several years in service of someone else.Moviefan1203 said:LaFlorecita said:No, it wouldn't be.Moviefan1203 said:Yes aMatParker117 said:Apparently the Sky rumours were swearling around the Tour presentation along with what I assume would compose his support riders.

How do? Some time away from being grand tour leader would be good for him. Riding alongside Froome and learning from someone of his caliber would greatly benefit his craft for sure. Sky also has access to facilities and trainers/coaches that would improve his TT. The sports Psychologists on Sky’s payroll would also be of help to Pinot one would think.

Interesting that you've only become interested in him since he is rumored to be joining sky and suddenly you have his best interests at heartMatParker117 said:Moviefan1203 said:LaFlorecita said:No, it wouldn't be.Moviefan1203 said:Yes aMatParker117 said:Apparently the Sky rumours were swearling around the Tour presentation along with what I assume would compose his support riders.

Yeah two years with Steve Peters, Rod Ellingworth & Tim Kerrison should be a great help in those areas.

Good ride today. I'm hoping for a good ending of what is a disappointing season so far.
Then Nacer should join Sky and win the TdFice&fire said:Sky has proved they can get a TDF winner out of a hat. Perhaps they're thinking in getting Tibopino out of the hat... to warm the hearts of French cycling fans![]()
Learn to hurt himself more? Where have you been?movingtarget said:Tonton said:Thibaut with Sky? Not on my dead body...I don't know what he will learn from them except...

He will learn to hurt himself more maybe and over train which probably isn't what he needs as he sometimes has some health issues. Tactically Sky are pretty straightforward except for certain pre planned sneak attacks..........I still would prefer to see him change teams and get a fresh approach. The problem is where ? Astana maybe ? Michelton already have three GC riders. BMC might have been good and they might have helped him more with his TT but that's history now.

Team change as a solution, for me, means the dark side. I'll still ride, but not follow PRR if it happens. Pro-wrestling and the likes? Not for me/
Tonton said:Fair enough.
The Sky talks are non-sense to me. It's Star Wars material, joining the dark side. I like my Tibopino as the Jedi, even though the force is not always with him. He was approached by Sky a few years back, wouldn't move to the Nice-Monaco area. He built his house in his hometown, has some fishing ponds, his family nearby, heck he wouldn't settle just 40 km eastward in CH and save a ton in taxes
. Just a simple dude, down to Earth. It may cost him career-wise, but I still believe that he can win a GT if circumstances are right. As long as he gives it all, that's fine by me.
I really hope for a podium at La Vuelta; the Giro ending was brutal. I don't want it to be the highlight (or rather lowlight) of his season.
Learn what? How to improve his immune system? What a joke of a post. "certain" of what? Sky has nothing to offer. Marginal gains...thanks but no thanks.memyselfandI said:Tibopino at the team Sky as a superdomestique/road captain for Froome or Thomas would be excellent position for him as it would take certain type of high pressure off yet keeping certain type of high pressure on. He could learn a lot.
He has been training at altitude, honing his form for the Vuelta, but said he is also building toward the World Championships and late-season classics.
