Call me biased but this was one of the most impressive solo victories I have seen this year

Fantastic/gutsy win. Even tougher for big guy into the wind in home stretch.

Bodes well for him in future to win with attack like that and make it stick.

p.s. Did anyone notice the 2 guys at the right side of the road just 30m before the finish going mental? Was funny to see.

Dissapointing from Eddy. Looks like when the others wouldnt work with him he just gave up. Should have kept racing, 2nd is better than nothing. Surprised.

unless i got it wrong, but thats what it looked like

nah, there will be more to it than that. Must have had a mechanical or something.

Gesink is truly something. Next year should be interesting.

Quality group chasing him, too. It's nice to see Sagan can still be with the grown-ups during his second peak. I wonder if the others let Hesjedal have the podium spot? :p

I wonder if DT still thinks Quebec was a far better race?
Great last lap, that.
No flats, no falls, no mechanicals. An all round good show from Robbie Rabo.

EBH needs to be more aggressive. He's riding almost like a sprinter (a sprinter that can make the next-to-last selection), and that doesn't really work so good when your entire team is left in Britain.

Boasson Hagen didn't look like he gave up at last shot, he was getting back into the line but cameras don't show about 15 seconds, there was a lot of looking behind in next shot though?

Great win by gesink fully deserved

2 great races. Though Quebec was better i see these 2 in the future being similar to the FW LBL relationship of today.

Edvald must have had flat or something, he just sat up with 1km to go or something like that.

maybe.. i will have a look in a minute, just waiting for the video to convert.

Edvald either punctured or just gave up as he can't be arsed with second anymore...I think he impressed nonetheless, he surely is the best climber amongst the "sprinters".

I wonder if Moondance thinks it was worth getting banned the week that Gesinlk cracks the big time.

Admittedly, great ride by Gesink...but was it just me or were the others looking at Ryder to do much of the work? That was a top-class group, they shouldn't have been that punched.

Really impressive. I just took it for granted that Gesink would get caught but they just couldn't quite catch him. It didn't look like the chase group was working that well together in the last km or so. Still, amazing solo win for Gesink.

I think he decided with 35km to go he was gonna watch the resume on Eurosport. So he's still watching now.
