he actually is not a bad tt'r (not a good one :D but not a bad one either), he claimed his altitude training for the tour affected his time trialing at suisse/tour

psss please do not yell to loud you may awake the haters. Loved seeing the racw=e commentated upon by canadians and jalabert!

They are already waking!!!!

Good to see Gesink win but I am glad I didn't get up for it as I would of had to put up with the dutch fan club going through their pom-pom chant routine for gesink.

I may have to keep off the forums for the next few days.

I didn't think EBH's pulls were particularly weak, when he took them (which wasn't particularly often, as you guys say). On the other hand, Sagan's pulls were a bit of a joke much of the time, weren't they? I don't know, that's the impression I got.

I think all the riders in the chasing group spend more energy on "ellbowing" than on pedalling :D

Peter is not stupid and the pulls of all the riders in this group were just alibi-pulls

Both Sagan and EBH could have done a little more pulling seeing as how they both knew they were the best sprinters in the group by a mile...

Either one of them could have put in a huge effort to catch Gesink and still outsprint Hesjedal and the rest.
Could be they were just worried about each other.

It is likely they will be in these situations against eachother many times in their careers. If i were either i would figure to try my best to bring Gesink back. If the other screws me, plenty of years left for revenge.

Valid point, but TBH Sagan is a far superior climber so ideally he should target races that are too hilly for the EBH type. Honestly, i was surprised by Hagen's performance on the climb today

They were probably quite empty though, and obviously in a situation like that it has to be quite annoying to see the likes of Zubeldia refusing to do any pulls, just so he can get another 4. place finish...

Being a sprinter in the group of climbers is always a tough situation, because you will get attacked from everywhere, and when a gap opens up, you'll have a bunch of cowards on your wheel, refusing to do any work. Maybe they should realise that sure, they normally can't beat this sprinter in a sprint, but if they let someone ride away they most definitely won't win.

Edvalds best chance for worlds is that Cancellara will do like he did last year, pulling back all the breakaways single-handedly. At least that's a guy who races to win, instead of racing for second.

Sagan is a Gilbert or Bettini type of rider. EBH is a better climber then "sprinters who can climb" like Hushovd or Ciolek. Not sure how to label EBH...he's pretty unique.

EBH is pretty much Hushovd version 2.0. An improved version. Better TT, better climber, a bit less body.
Somewhere between Freire and Hushovd actually.

I dont think Sagan is that much better a climber than EBH. EBH has such a good sprint that he doesnt neccesarily focus on the climbs as much but when hes at his peak he can do climbs with them

Sagan is certainatly not "far superior"

Fine maybe not "far superior" but Sagan is definitely the better climber of the pair.

They've only raced against each other two times, which was this friday (when sagan was dropped, edvald was not) and today (none of them were dropped, not counting edvalds mysterious vanish). It's hard to say whether Edvald would've been in contention for the races sagan has won this year. Sagan is probably more explosive on the climbs though.

Edvalds says he vanished in the end because his pedal pulled out. Man...that is some tough luck. He says he could've won if not, and if he says so then I thrust him...

All this bad luck has to stop sometime...and preferably at worlds, as it did with cadel!
