Ya, more exactly in the sharp corner when they are leaning to one side he hit his pedal into the ground.

described by sky as a crash.. hmm ????

Nordic eurosport 2 had the race on at that time and I listened with english commentary so I heard Bäckstedt at least.

Lucky. Its always to better to watch with commentary you can understand. The canadian said Ryder Hejsdals name in a jamaican way the whole time as well, and him being Canadian, they couldnt stop saying it.

Well, it was still a bit weird because they messed up the laps so they kept saying that there was one more lap left. They couldn't understand why Gesink was riding so hard on the flat instead of waiting for the climb a last time.

I'll predict a Gesink win and Hesjedal on the podium. Those guys are in shape, motivated, and this course suits them more than Quebec.

Yay, I got it right! My next bold prediction is that I will attend these races in-person next year or the year after. Congratulations to the riders and the organizers for a successful pair of events.

They are already waking!!!!

Good to see Gesink win but I am glad I didn't get up for it as I would of had to put up with the dutch fan club going through their pom-pom chant routine for gesink.

I may have to keep off the forums for the next few days.

hey you, yeah you.
Bmc meet their/your modest expectations for the weekend didn't they... oh wait, nevermind.

Great job Canada and congratulations to Gesink. Good for Ryder, quiet a successful, and attack laden, year.

I just said what BMC's expectations are. They definetly weren't mine.

Haha, those expectations were really hilarious before, but even more so now:
"A reasonable expectation would be to win one of the two races and have a guy on the podium both days," Assistant Director Michael Sayers said.
Maybe they should try to sign this guy Gesink, he has actually reached their goals for the weekend.

no. you also said you expected two victories also

I expect two more this weekend and to pick up some more races later in the year. I think cadel will win lombardy.

what a joke bmc's expectations were.
they haven't won anything all year, then expect to win both races on the w.e with a quality field, and without their star rider.

I guess it's a way to describe to non-cyclists why hitting your pedal into the ground is bad and will get you out of contention. The word crash is easier to understand.

He clipped his pedal in the last corner and went down. Doesn't that count as a crash?

I can't see Cadel winning Lombardy either if Gesink is this good (and add an in form Gilbert and possibly A.Schleck to the list...)

Just a reminder from the official race site that Eurosport UK always had it scheduled for broadcast 4 days later:

http://preview.tinyurl.com/264486g

I sent Magnus a tweet - don't know if he'll see it.

The official race site has Eurosport UK showing Montreal straight after the Vuelta on Thursday 16th.

But Eurosport tv schedule has them showing Quebec straight after the Vuelta on Thursday 16th, and Montreal at 11am on Friday 17th.

Not the best bit of scheduling from ES.

Edvalds says he vanished in the end because his pedal pulled out. Man...that is some tough luck. He says he could've won if not, and if he says so then I thrust him...

All this bad luck has to stop sometime...and preferably at worlds, as it did with cadel!
Ah, in that case, we might as well consider EBH the winner... Why do you keep saying stuff like this after each race he didn't win? There's no way he would have passed Gesink in those final 500 meters.

I can't help but think BMC made a complete hash of the weekend team selections.
Both the Canadian courses were right up Cadel's street, while, Paris-Bruxelles fitted him as well as two left shoes.
Apparently Evans raced in Europe to be closer to his doctors (I'm not even kidding...)
