It makes sense, with the form he showed at Dauphine.

I wouldn't put it past him to win the Giro, he is just the sort of rider, who gets fueled by a perceived slight like that ;)
"I want to make the most of last few years of my career"

Also

"I didn't train hard enough for the Tour"

Judging by Thomas' comments, it seems he got the decision between either being a domestique at the Tour or being a leader for the Giro.

Yup. I don't think that's a surprise. And I think he knew it was a fair decision.

The question is, was Carapaz given a choice? Because he's gone from Giro leader to Tour Dom.

Really brutal for Carapaz. I feel for him. Doubt he was given the choice. Difference being they didn't bring in Carapaz to lead a GT (he hadn't won the Giro yet when they signed him I believe) and he has not earned the internal clout that GT has through years of doming, some week long stage races, and, of course, a Tour. I don't think Froome was given a choice either since it seemed pretty clear he was going to be an ineffective dom.

Maybe he's been told "Don't worry, when it turns out Froomey's toast, you'll be the sole leader at the Vuelta."

Ive been debating starting a thread dedicated to all the “Prudencios” out there like Dayer, Antonio, Juraj, Aydar Zakarin, the other Costa, Whatever his name is Viviani, and Jesus Hernandez.
Yestadej Pogacar.

Van der Poel in the break of the MTF stage because why the f*ck not!
I love him.

Visconti is also in the break and he is only 2 minutes behing in GC so EF will have to chase. 5 minutes gap atm.
