Sagan will need time to recover from covid. He isn't doing too badly in the easy stages. It's just that he's nowhere near classics shape. Maybe with the extra races he can still come in form but my guess is it will be too late for the classics.
Justed confirmed by the change in his plans. He clearly needs tons of tough race kms, so he's going to volta a catalunya, where the profile is hardly suited to him. Basically mountain stage after mountain stage.

Bettiol's TT results are a good indicator of his form, he has recovered well from his health problems. Otherwise he wouldn't put 7 seconds into Asgreen in such a short ITT.

Wonder has the wind changed a bit as that Pozzo time is a bit odd.
Pozzovivo has been know to pull out the occasional awesome TT performance. Today's is actually not nearly as good as some he has done in the past. And he was about 3 km/h slower overall than at the first checkpoint, which is in line with other finishers, so I don't think the wind has shifted.

I hope Fabbro will hold onto his 5th place. Wellens and Almeida are both far better timetrialists on this course, but it's also really short and Fabbro is in fantastic form. Should be enough hopefully.

Still did a faster TT than Oliveira, Bodnar, Kwiatowski. Or being within 10-15 seconds of Asgreen is unusual.
Last year in the Giro he was faster than Bjerg, Brändle,... and very close to guys like Dowsett and Bodnar in a 15km flat TT as well. So not completely unusual.
