Pogacar and Evenepoel have never competed against each other in a stage race so this Tirreno is crucial: whoever wins this duel will have a psychological advantage over the next 10 years.
Lol, what are you talking about with a psychological advantage? We are talking about a guy who won 2x Tour de France, Liege, Lombardia, Strade Bianche, Tirreno and a Vuelta podium, and comparing him to someone who won a couple of Baliose Belgiuan Tours and Druijvenkoers Overijse

Wouldn't be surprised to see Remco outside top 10 on the Double Carpegna stage.

The Vingegaard and Kuss duo are the only ones I can see putting Pog under pressure.

Especially Kuss is great at ambush attacks.

Yeah, and it looked like he was trying to stretch out his back during those final Kms (of course I would be too). He may be feeling it more on Tuesday than he does today. Then again, he’s Pogacar.

In case you missed that. That wasn't stretching his back, that was high-fiving fans on the sideline.

Well I get your point but you did miss EC TT champion, tour of Pologne winner and Classica San Sebastian. Not the same level as the new Eddy Slovenian Eddy Merckx but some respect is in place.

Yeah, not the same level.
More like, as someone pointed out, Simon Spilak Tour deSuisse, Romandie and Frankfurt level...
He's the Slovenian he should compare with.

Peter Sagan at the press conference before Tirreno-Adriatico:

I got Covid for the second time in January. I had a training camp in Gran Canaria after and I started racing in France before Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. I got a little flu this week but it’s already passed. What I’ll be able to do in this race depends on my condition and I’m still looking for my good condition. The real season starts now.”

Let´s see if he can do some damage.

Maybe Pogi takes it easy, he just took nice semi-monument and already has one T-A taken. Bigger goals ahead, no? It's strange UAE put Almeida to P-N, I think his chances are slim there, should have done Tirreno w/ Pogi as a superdom. Team spirit building.

You want riders like Almeida to get his own opportunities as well. Guy's a big talent, and I cant imagine it does anything good for this motivation to ride in support of Almeida for the whole year. When you sign guys like him, I think the goal should be to spread them a bit and compete for high placings in various races instead of just going all-in on Pogacar's races.

Why on Earth would they waste Almeida like that??

What about Mikel Landa and Pello Bilbao? They are more favourites than Caruso or Formolo

It's already aged poorly.
Currently on PCS' All Time Ranking the retired Spilak sits at #490 and 12 career wins. The 22 year old Evenepoel sits at #379 and 25 career wins.
OK. I never have a problem to say that Remco is an excellent rider and will massively surpass Spilak in palmares. I say he is the Belgian Simon Spilak because he is perfect for winning Tour de Romandie, Balise Belgium Tour and Tour de suisse and shouldn't be taken seriously as GT contender

Well, I supose we should post on this forum in 10 years and see how well your post aged

I read here many times that PCS ranking is ridiculous, and that the big wins are the most important. So I would give the edge to Spilak, cause I rate his 2 Tour de Suisse and Romandie higher than San Sebastian, Poland and EC ITT.

Whatever you do with your spare time is your business, so i won't lose any sleep over who you would give the edge to or what you read. PCS all time ranking is based on big results and favors bigger wins, and yet Evenepoel is ahead of the Slovenian Masnada by a landslide. Makes you think. Or not.

That Masnada fan never ceases with trolling, does he? Is it the good old IsZnoGoud (or what his name was) back in the CN forums? It's been quite some years, since the Tiago Machado hype and trolling was present, but his post bear some resemblance, the more I read.

I see it differently I think it's more of a Fun Meme even though that member is a fan as am I, there are enough good performances to wonder of his top level though I doubt that his level will ever live up to the Meme. I believe it's for Fun and a bit of satire of super-fans by emulating that kind of behavior. Don't take it too serious with Masanada the Meme my friend (cycling forum member). :)
