Maybe this is the year we see Ciccone finally break out. I don’t see him as a GT winner, but I think he could do a Top 5, depending on where he rides. The Giro will be tough with the TT though.

Based on what? Their track record is about equal.

Depends on incline. Pog is easily the fastest sprinter of all stage-race specialists on flat/shallow gradients. Primoz has been super explosive on those steeper finishes but I'm not sure he still has the same uphill kick as 2-3 years ago (while Pog is clearly in his explosivity prime, regardless of incline).

Then again, the idea that Primoz will go to the Tour to steal bonuses from Pog is ridiculous. He'll only go there as a co-leader (or not at all).

Maybe based on earlier seasons, but the last couple of years Pogi has been clearly faster.
This year and last year, Pogi has just simply been clearly stronger.

When that wasn't the case, like in 2021, they were quite equal, also compared to the peloton at large.

He can't, Pogacar is faster than him. They have Van Aert, and more importantly Laporte, who will probably be tasked with snapping up bonus seconds.

They won't be there on harder finishes tbf, Roglic would and assuming both Vingegaard and Roglic are strong, they can double team Pogacar and try tire him out.

Bonus seconds are stupid in these week long races where there isn’t enough KMs to make up the difference. It puts too much emphasis on sprinting. That said, it really doesn’t matter when it’s Pogacar because he is clearly the strongest rider here.

Tbh I don't think it's completely fair to complain about Rogla "always winning" when in fact it was a looong time since he won GC before this race. Rather it feels like he came back. Wasn't everyone saying he's on a decline?

I look forward to the giro. The Rogla Remco rivalry is gonna be real. Almeida looking stronger, Tao getting better. I'm not sure Roglic takes it.

Sucks for Mas about yesterday, and today wasn't necessarily the best finish for him either with cobbles and what not. Could have potentially won the race, but then again, so could 4-5 other riders as well, because Primoz sure as hell didnt look strong yesterday, so if its not shortened and we dont get a strong headwind, this race could have looked very different.

Roglic was super strong today though, and he gets to win T-A which is an important race missing. Imagine if he hadn't *** Paris-Nice and Dauphine up.

You're a hard woman to please.

I'd say that it's not too often that Vingegaard, Van Aert and Roglic are on different teams. At least if that happens, Roglic and Pogacar are on the same team.
When Rog and Pog are on the same team, Evenepoel and Roglic get criticism about not working enough for Van Aert.

Only cycling fans will understand.
