Yesterday's slalomists (Landa, Carthy, Van Aert a.o.) were all given a 20 second penalty among other candies for going inside the poles.
Lol ridiculous, also no way just a few riders did that.

I'm sitting here trying to remember if Roglic went on the inside somewhereInstead of punishing Landa, they should have punished all the others for sucking his wheel on that climb.

If it was forbidden, I think they should have clearly marked that.Yesterday's slalomists (Landa, Carthy, Van Aert a.o.) were all given a 20 second penalty among other candies for going inside the poles.
Let me get this straight - ironically, considering the whole "issue" comes from riders zig-zagging.
Several riders were zig-zagging up the climb, as riders often do on steep climbs, but because there were some bollards at some point, and the riders just continued their natural path, that was seen as a problem?
They didn't just continue their natural path. They did it because the surface was easier to ride on. But I also think it was RCS's fault, cause the riders will always do it when it's possible.
For Landa, it also somewhat discouraged others to sit on his wheel. They didn't just continue their natural path. They did it because the surface was easier to ride on. But I also think it was RCS's fault, cause the riders will always do it when it's possible.
Oh, didn't know the bit about the surface. And not only will the riders always seek the easiest surface, I hardly think those few metres of easier surface made the climb that much easier for the riders...
The riders would have lost speed and momentum by sticking to the cobbles. In other races these paths would either have been closed off or there would have been spectators standing on them.

Looks like a cycle path to me.I just checked again, and I didn't see anything like that on the videos or photos available. It may still have happened, of course, but here for example he deliberately doesn't follow van Aert:
