Hopefully Ganna gets the same time as the peloton.
Yep. Pathetic from the peloton.Van der Poel only has himself to blame there, didn't do a single pull.
That's what he did...No 3k rule I assume, otherwise he could ride into the zone and 'have a mechanical' then, Remco style.
Probably didn't have the legs. Looked on the limit on the last climb.Van der Poel only has himself to blame there, didn't do a single pull.
His legs are stronger than his drive trainNice win by Dversnes.
Ganna riding so hard he destroyed his bike?
Van der Poel is just a worse rider in any race where you have to use your brain.Does Van Der Poel just expect everyone to ride for him this race
Well of course he was on the limit, he's not a climber. But if you have enough left to win the sprint for second by multiple bike lengths, you could also have afforded to pull. Nobody was ever going to help once he made it over the climb and there were no GC splits.Probably didn't have the legs. Looked on the limit on the last climb.
He should have gone over the top of Pidcock, when he bridged. I was surprised he didn't keep going at that point.Well of course he was on the limit, he's not a climber. He didn't want to get in the same situation as yesterday where he went at 5km from the finish and then didn't have enough for the sprint. He rather see it play out and sprint.Well of course he was on the limit, he's not a climber. Difference being that there was no Kooij, Pluimers or Magnier left in the peloton this time round...He didn't want to get in the same situation as yesterday where he went at 5km from the finish and then didn't have enough for the sprint. He rather see it play out and sprint.
Everyone knows Van der Poel cleans it up, and Van der Poel didn't have a teammate.Teams with multiple riders seem to have forgotten how to ride the final with a reduced peleton. Surely you need to have one rider sacrifice for the other. Not for the first time a solo rider has survived a final when this should not have occurred.
Yeah, MVDP was hiding on the descent and the flat but closed down the final Pidcock attack super easy and won the sprint by a couple of bike lengths. No way he was cooked, he just expected everyone to ride for him as usual.
- Someone who didn't watch Amstel in 2019If people are expecting MVDP's pulls to be the difference in closing a 10+ second gap within a km or two, there is no chance he has anything left to sprint after that.
