Dumoulin needs to ride smart like he did on the Blockhaus stage. Movistar will drill it before the climb and keep it going as long as possible. There isn't much else they can do on this stage.

Exactly, we can't know how he'll handle those stages. He looks pretty strong though, it's hard to see him crack completelySquire said:It's still far from over. The multi mountain stages with long climbs are a different beast entirely. But he's looking mightily good so far!

Well... winning is pretty smart.

Weak team, Multi Mountain stages and Dutch bad luck. But it is equally possible that Quintana will run out of energy with the effort and crack in the final TT

The TT will be crucial. Strangely not many people thought the TTs would matter much but not many picked Dumoulin to be Quintana's main opposition obviously.

I was already worried when Brailsford said after last years tdf mtt that Dumoulin might be the first rider who manages to beat Froome, so Sky definitely sees Dumoulins potential. And considering Froome is already 32 and that Dumoulin will probably want to go to another team since Sunweb doesn't really have strong support for a gc rider, I can very well imagine this happening.TomekA said:This guy is incredible.
