I'm totally disagreeing with you DFA yeah. I can't possible compare Blockhaus Dumoulin to anything he did before. Even other 1 MTF finishes on similar steep climbs he did way worse at.
Fair enough. For me his performances on things like Cumbre del Sol and Arcalis showed his ability to climb well on different kinds of mountains when fresh and when it's just the one big climb. The issue for me is his ability on multi high mountain stages when he's not fresh. Which hasn't been tested at all yet this Giro. And is what his main rivals excel at.Dekker_Tifosi said:I'm totally disagreeing with you DFA yeah. I can't possible compare Blockhaus Dumoulin to anything he did before. Arcalis stage had Bonaigua, Canto, Comella and Beixalis before the final climb to Arcalis.DFA123 said:Fair enough. Indeed. That's what I'm saying; he has shown some very strong climbing performances in the past - similar to his level on Blockhaus this year imo. But only when well rested and fully recovered. The test this next week is going to be on his recovery and his ability to follow wheels, which is where he is still very unproven.Forever The Best said:Arcalis stage had Bonaigua, Canto, Comella and Beixalis before the final climb to Arcalis.DFA123 said:Fair enough. Garbage... he has 68/69 kg like in the 2015 vuelta, but his w/kg are lower and more credibles if everybody think he is around 71 kg...Dekker_Tifosi said:Tom Dumoulin: "My actual weight is around 70-71 kg." (RAI)
So basically no weight loss.
I remember one TdF ('96 maybe?) when they published the height and weight from the pre-race medical check (they might have done it other races/years too but I didn't notice). It would be cool if there was neutral party who provided this info. for us. The teams aren't going to tell us, but then how many good poker players tell you what cards they have?portugal11 said:Garbage... he has 68/69 kg like in the 2015 vuelta, but his w/kg are lower and more credibles if everybody think he is around 71 kg...Dekker_Tifosi said:Tom Dumoulin: "My actual weight is around 70-71 kg." Yes... like almost 99% of the riders... he dropped 3/4 kilos comparatively to last year.Dekker_Tifosi said:So you are saying he is a liar?

You didn't see my post... more weight means lower w/kg... froome in pierre saint martin lied about his weight too. Why? It's pretty obvioushuge said:portugal11 said:Garbage... he has 68/69 kg like in the 2015 vuelta, but his w/kg are lower and more credibles if everybody think he is around 71 kg...Dekker_Tifosi said:Tom Dumoulin: "My actual weight is around 70-71 kg." Why should he lie about his weight?
Is that going to change the way his opponent will attack him or feel about him?
No reason to think he is not 70-71kg as he said.
He also said that he tried to lower his weight further down, under 70kg, but that made him weaker.

Nothing obvious.
He can lie big time. That doesn't change a bit the way the other riders will try and attack him in the next few days.
Or perhaps you expect Quintana saying "Oh my God. Dumoilin has got such a high power to weight ratio! I'm gonna play defensive. He is too strong. I won't attack him" or the opposite, if he is stating an higher that real weight, for all that matters
PS: obviously you weighted Froome yourself. That's why you are so sure he also lied.
Oh man, you couldn't be so wrong if you tried. I could tell you stories from South Edinburgh that would make your toes curl. Can we have a definitive for us non Dutch speakers?
