wins his first short track race starting from off the back row - only finding out he was racing 2 1/2 hours before, having already done a 3 hour training ride.
He just toyed with the field in the short track, bided his time and whacked everybody in the last 500 meters. It’s too bad that Mvdp isn’t really doing xc right now…He's definitely a natural on the MTB...wins come easier than on the road.
I would be surprised if Van der Poel will ever be able to win against Pidcock in xc. He might enjoy it, but he's too heavily built to be truly competitive. He just toyed with the field in the short track, bided his time and whacked everybody in the last 500 meters. depends heavily on the course imho... they warry a lot throughout the WC.I would be surprised if Van der Poel will ever be able to win against Pidcock in xc. He might enjoy it, but he's too heavily built to be truly competitive.

The tour.Does anyone know which of the races in Switzerland he will do this weekend. The Tour or Lenzerhiede (MTB)?
Thanks. So no more MTB world Cups before the World Championships in Scotland. Very surprised by that. Thought they would be his main focus of the summer. The tour.
I expect that's what his mates back home call him.Can we change the name of this thread to something like 'Tom Pidcock descends like Nibali minus the crashes'
trolling shark fans would just be the chef's kiss but can we at least lose the 'Pidders' thing?
Who calls him that? I've never even heard it on GCN
the draw of the tdf, and pressure of big contract from ineos i suspect. If he's in good condition he should do well in the world mtb, I mean he was 4th last year with a few problems.Thanks. Do we know if it will be a Pidcock friendly route?Yeah I think he believes he can win anyway. But why not put yourself in the best possible position (gridding and to some extent prep) because as per last year people like nino won't wait up for him and will want to put him under pressure going through the finish line.
Unlike CX, where very few courses suit him, most XC MTB courses are for him - I don't think he's going to be disadvantaged with a flat, power course.Do we know if it will be a Pidcock friendly route?

If you are brought up speaking English English, it's a perfectly normal form of his name.

it's due to typing fast during forum race actionsI don't know why people need a nickname for riders. I mean, it's cool if a rider has a nickname for long time and everybody stick to it (like Purito) but is it that hard to call riders with their real names if they don't have a nickname?
With all due respect, but what exactly does he/Ineos expect to be able to happen in GC? So far he's shown diddly squat as a GC rider, and now suddenly in the biggest GC race of all he wants to see what will happen?...and will see what happens with GC...
