As if they were gonna invite his team anyway.

some sponsors can be quite powerful at making things happen behind the scenes :) people forget he's very marketable. and also that it was a media day where the media ask such dumb questions, and he has to answer them, and then his answers become the story, not the question.

though I liked he called out Daniel Benson for announcing his move to Q36.5 3 hours before he'd even signed the contract.

Speaking of cycling media, Feltet.dk has really gone downhill. Their headline for the non-news about Pidcock not doing the TdF is 'Shock message from Pidcock'. :tearsofjoy: At least Cyclinguptodate had the modesty to only write 'Big news!' in the headline.

He must really hate the Tour. I suspect at Ineos he would have had to do it anyway.

That said, seems like he can win any number of stages if he targeted them either from the break or a punchy stage from the pack. Especially in a non-Olympic hear, no one pays attention to pro cycling outside the Tour from the Dauphine/Suisse until the Vuelta starts up...so maybe he'll just focus on XC then?

I know he's not diplomatic but I would have liked to hear him say, Well, I'd love to go any try for stages but it depends on whether we're selected.

They were bought by EkstraBladet last week, so the development in headlines was to be expected. And Emil Axelgaard already left last year.

It's sad to see.

it's been unreadable since forever with headlines searching for max number of clicks like FAMOUS RIDER STARTS BIG RACE or NEW STAR SIGNS FOR BIG TEAM or CHAMPION HAPPY: THIS RACE IS MY FAVORITE or OPERATION FOR PROFILED RIDER

Yeah, I know. I wrote for them for a couple of years in the middle of the 2010's and at that point clickbait headers were a no-go but that changed gradually soon after I stopped.
