I don't know if it is online anywhere, but the interviews with the manager are all over the media here, especially the radio.

No, don't worry. Ten days or two week break isn't all that bad.Forunculo said:Tour dream over![]()

I remember Basso and his crash in the slopes of Etna.Bavarianrider said:No, don't worry. Ten days or two week break isn't all that bad.
I'm sure with the help of a good doctor he'll be back in no time.Gloin22 said:WhatHe'll be back racing in 10 days. It's not going to change much for him. He'll miss Romandie though.
Very unlucky, but those thing can happen. Wish him speedy recovery but all looks better than it sounded at the start.
Maybe Bavarian enlighten me but Tony don't get the form easilynevada said:I'm sure with the help of a good doctor he'll be back in no time.
It's not like tour is 10 days away. He'll easily be able to be there at peak or rather LondonForunculo said:Maybe Bavarian enlighten me but Tony don't get the form easily
Exactly. He can train on rollers, too. It's only his face which is affected. But not the important body parts he needs for cycling. A broken collar bone would be a lot worse.Ryo Hazuki said:he only broke a cheekbone? he can start training as soon as he's out of the hospital
No. He broke a cheekbone, jaw and an eye socket.Ryo Hazuki said:he only broke a cheekbone? he can start training as soon as he's out of the hospital
Ouch. And no concussion?roundabout said:No. He broke a cheekbone, jaw and an eye socket.
Was unconscious for about 15 minutes, left side of the face is smashed, left eye is bloodshot and completely swollen shut. Left arm hurts and some ribs have also been affected.Fetisoff said:Ouch. And no concussion?
(Goalie for my favorite football team recently suffered same injury, but he also got a concussion. Our for at least 6 months, will be forced to wear a mask if ever comes back to play)
Conspiracy? RNT trying to get rid of the competition slowly but surely? just kiddingBillytheKid said:Crazy drivers. What are the odds on Omega Pharma QuickStep's two GC contenders get hit by a car within several weeks of each other? A jaw is a different matter. That could be bad unless it's a hairline fracture.
That sounds horrible and I don't think he will be "all there" in July. He might start and he could even do well in the TT, but he will not have anything to do with the GC. Orbital bone fractures are a significant injury, I don't think he should ride on the road for a couple months until this is healed up imo.Machu Picchu said:Was unconscious for about 15 minutes, left side of the face is smashed, left eye is bloodshot and completely swollen shut. Miraculously, this bold prediction appears to be on the path to becoming a strange sort of reality!dlwssonic said:he will beat contador in the mountains in 2012
Well that sounds quiet good.Machu Picchu said:OPQS update:
Tony Martin returned home today in the late morning, he was diagnosed with several facial fractures, the last medical checks also revealed a small fracture in his left shoulder blade and upper arm.
Because of the nature of the fractures, Tony Martin won't need surgery.
The return of Tony to training will not be immediate and will depend on how his clinical situation evolves.
