Andy, ask for Passage du Gois (not in the neutral section) so that you can get a 6 minute headstart and have a better chance of winning.
Nah, he or his brother will fall off.

That muletrack doesn't qualify for anything near a road! It's extremely narrow and the surface consists of cracked cliffs.
I had to get off the bike several times to jump over gaps.
Is there some sort of heritage listing or environmental restriction preventing the road from being sealed?

Some new rumours off velowire.

- There will be a time trial on the last friday of the tour around the Lac de Vassivière.

- The stage that is known to finish in Porrentruy will include the climb Mont Crosin then the Cote de Saulcy and finish on the Col de la Croix which is a short but steep climb. This climb was used in the Tour de L'Avenir this year on tehe stage that Hepburn 'won' although there was a long descent to the finish on that stage. The climb is a cat 1. I could only find the Crosin climb. Supposedly the stage will not finish Porrentruy.

- The first mountain top finish of the tour will be on stage 7 which finishes on the La Planche des Belles Filles which is according the research I have done is 5.5km long @ 8.2%.

- Stage 3 will be a hill top finish to Porte Gayole avenue which finishes in the town of Boulougne Sur Mer. By the look of the climb on Google Maps, this has some similarities to the Mur de Bretagne finish. With what stage 1 and stage 3 are looking likely to be, I think Gilbert is likely to be in yellow here.

This could be the finish to a pretty hard stage if planned properly. A stage through this part of the Vosges finishing at Belles Filles followed by a stage over the bigger Vosges climbs would be very welcome.

the guy that does this has been very accurate in the past with his route predictions. I think his name is Thomas.

Well there you go. Seems to have similarities with Pena Carbarga.

The next stage is suppose to be a MTF that goes through many of the climbs in the Jura into Switzerland. It won't be through the Vosges.

one tricky thing is that there are 2 Col de La Croix's in Switzerland which are within a reasonable distance of each other. I think the one that makes the most sense to where the finish will be is the one that finishes at 700m not 1700m.

rumours,rumours and more rumours

the bad one is that there will be just one stage in the alps and that col du grand colombiere will make its first appearance in le tour.and now you ask "why is that a bad rumour?grand colombier is pretty awesome".well it seems that after the top of the climb there will be at least 40 kms until the finish line.

the good rumours is that we'll finally have what we mostly are wishing for:two ITT's.one between Arc et Senans and Besancon.the other one in chartres.

don't forget.there are just rumours,nothing official.

other rumours have said that the tt won't be around chartres but will be around the Lac de Vassivière.

anyway, that tt in besancon looks kinda hilly and around 35km. Should be interesting.

The more I have read, many seem to think that the time trial is around Lac de Vassiviere and then a stage from Dreux to Chartres. Thomas seems to be quie sure about that.

I remember how all those rumors were totally wrong last year:D:D
So i wouldn't give them any credibility at all. Let's just wait and see.

Thomas Vergouren (what ever his name is) has been actually close to spot on the last two years. The towns also wouldn't announce anything if they weren't sure about it which means the first main tt will most likely be around besnacon.

signs point to it being out if you read velowire, velo-club etc.

yes, that seems to be the case. Velowire is also saying that there will definetly be a tt between basnacon and Arc et Senans. It seems now that the original rumour about the itt being between Bonneval and Chartres is the one that is correct and the rumour about a ITT around Lac de Vassiviere is incorrect. There will be a stage in Paris Nice finishning there instead.
