Gilbert beaten by Pauwels in a sprint, how sweet it is !!!!!

Great stage by the way. As always in our Tour. But not as good as 2009.

Pauwels has, to date, been mostly a sprinter on the road, so it's nice to see him branching out a bit and showing that ability on hills, since he has such good acceleration on the small mounds they use in 'cross.
He's had a lot of good results in sprints and uphill sprints in particular but he's also often showed he can handle the hills, too. See Belgian nats 2010.
During the live coverage of Overijse 2007 which he won after several attacks on the Tenotsberg (asphalt climb which still was in the course - every lap - in them good ole days), Mick Wuyts said it was no surprise because KP mixed up with good Spanish climbers at the Volta a Lleida.
But if he was referring to the stage Lleida-Alcarras, was it that mountainous?

A bunch of 26 in the same time but there might've been some decent climbs earlier on the course ???
One of his wins that I like is the 3rd stage of the Kreiz Breizh Elite 2011. He was already in break with 70k to go (the group attacked on the Mur de Bretagne). But with a dozen k to go he countered Freddy Bichot and with the 7 of them, they resisted the return of the peloton.
