I still don't understand why Gesink didn't drop out and start his preparation for the Vuelta... Any ideas?
Because he is not riding the Vuelta.
He has given up on the idea appearently.

He is going to america (Colorado) and then montreal/quebec in canada. Think they want to keep him far away from the netherlands to get his moral back.

Just in case you were wondering, red and white polka dots with sprinkles of orange, green and black looks as bad as it sounds.

Is Gesink the new A. Schleck? He'll do nothing but TdF? I hope not, because I really like this rider.

Nah, A Schleck is the new A. Schleck. At every Tour. According to Max Testa. :D

To be fair, Andy does rides some one day races and is even good at them.
But it's a shame they can't be all like Contador in that respect.

Nah, Gesink was going to ride the Vuelta, and he was very good in the early season. These are exceptional circumstances, they need him to recover physically and most of all mentally. It's been a tough year for him. I'd expect him to do both the Tour and the Vuelta regularly in the future.

4th and final night on Eastern Australian TDF Time, boy do you guys have it tough! Haven't had a longer sleep than 5 hours and I can barely stay awake now. To do 21 stages of this...

No that's not the case.

He really wanted to do Vuelta but I think he is mentally not good to prepare for another GT this year.
And how can you compare him with Andy Schleck? Gesink performed already in february in Oman, and again in march in the Tirreno and in April in Pays Basque... How can you compare that to Andy? Tell me.

Also look at previous seasons, he nearly always top 10's every race he enters.
Really bs comparison

I'm glad tony martin did so well, else I would be ****ing annoyed that EBH lost this victory because of a **** mechanic. He lost at least 30 seconds on that bike change and some people say he had to change bike twice too
