He is going to america (Colorado) and then montreal/quebec in canada. Think they want to keep him far away from the netherlands to get his moral back.

Nah, Gesink was going to ride the Vuelta, and he was very good in the early season. These are exceptional circumstances, they need him to recover physically and most of all mentally.
