So I guess Andy really is the 2nd best stage racer in the world? Unfortunately other people keeping popping in the #1 spot.

Pity he's never won a stage race.

I hope, when Cadel is standing on the top step with the Schlecks, he looks down at each of them and asks why they're not pulling. :)

Nice one. Seriously though, Andy also gained a lot of respect for what he did 2 days ago. Even if he was forced into it, I would never have believed he would do it.

Contador:

"I'm happy with my performance. [...] You can't have everything, you can't win all the time. All you can do is your best. To be honest, I'm quite happy with what I managed to do here."

nice quote without AC this tour would have been less fantastic

Tony Martin has an oxygen intake like a formula 1 car with his trout pout
Got his Tour stage win and well deserved after the work he's done for Cav over the years.

Got to love a guy who can finish the Mont Ventoux in 2nd position and win an ITT in the tour as well. Talent.

Gratz to Evans for an epic performance today. - and the TdF victory :)

Thanks to AC for animating alot of stages this year, and fighting 'til the end. A Giro 1st and TdF 5th same year isn't too bad ;)

Atm. I actually do feel a little sorry for the Schlecks... the post stage interviews could still change that. Still the stage 18 win was a great show.

No. He still needs to win a stage race. IMO, the gap from first to second is pretty huge, no matter who you slot in as second.

Who's the second best then? By what merits?

I don't. Hopefully he gets a little more dedicated to his craft. He's got the talent, just doesn't seem to have it upstairs.

Congratulations to Cadel Evans on a Tour win well earned. He fought for every inch of it, every single inch, and he never stopped trying. Well done.
He looks great in the Maillot Jaune. Crikey, Cadel.

It's been a pleasure watching this win with you. Time for me to cut out. A tip of the hat to ACF.

I guess I didn't word that well....
Was trying to say that he is the eternal runner-up, thus 2nd best...

Super happy to see Cadel win, sorry to say that I can never imagine Andy will ever win one.

I don't have a real strong opinion since, as I said, the gap between first (Contador) is so large to whoever folks want to place as second.
