Gesink definitely looked stronger than yesterday, even sprinted to the front by himself at some point. What I don't like is that with so many guys at the front, Rabo didn't even try to do do something, echelon-wise. But maybe that was a little too much for Bobby G.

I would think so.
He did look a lot better today (I still await his comments), but better to not go overboard I guess..

Tomorrow is a huge test for him.

Every time I see Hinault on the podium I'm blown away by how cool he is. Dude's a bad ***.

Absolutely gutted for Brad.:(

Still, on the brightside, unless sky nominate another leader they may now go all out for stage wins..?

sorry?

didn't you even saw cav looking at him, controlling him, and finishing one bike-lenght ahead of him? yes he tried. cudos for him. who was first? greipel or petachi? both of them one bike behind.
Er, yes. The point was that Greipel had already been balls out with his face in the wind for several seconds before Cav launched from behind Renshaw. I thought Greipel was impressive. As was Cav. Let the riders fight the battles, it doesn't have to be poster vs poster, it gets old.

Funny old game.

Yesterday Sky win stages in two different races and have a rider in the white jersey. 24 hours later and they lose their team leader and their white contenders lose 3 minutes as well.

So true. And it sucks.

Greipels sprint had to be almost twice as long as Cavs due to his team...

So what? Cavendish delivers victories. Greipel delivers whining, criticizing his teammates, creating conflict in the team, and making excuses, lots and lots of excuses. Cavendish now moves up to 17 Tour de France stage wins. Greipel moves up to 34 excuses for why he lost again. Take your pick.

Some serious hugging between Cav and Martin. Great footage!

You can say what you want about Cav, but he certainly is a leader that shows his gratitude toward his teammates.

yes there certainly seems to be much more hugging in pro cycling in the last few years.

handshake, pat on back not enuf seemingly

Green jersey standings:

Rojas 167
Gilbert 156
Cavendish 150
Hushovd 130
Feillu 99
Evans 98
Greipel 78
Farrar 76
Hinault 60
Galimzyanov 55

Cav closed the gap right down today but Rojas will probably pull away over the more hilly stages to come.

Tomorrow Cav will beat Rojas in the intermediate, and neither will get anything in the finish.

Sunday Rojas will make the intermediate and Cav won't, but I don't like his chances on that last km.

Tuesday & Wednesday I have booked down as Cav wins.

cav won so easy... and he had sprinted 20km earlier unlike his oponents.

really. no one stood a chance.

he does not win because of his train.. he wins because he is by far the most explosive and the fastest. the train just makes it very easy.

Cav is the fastest sprinter. Because of his trains he probably won more stages, but without the train he will still win most sprints.

I said it in another thread before. If you got the best sprinter it's worth investing an entire team around him, because that sprinter will never let you down. Just like Saeco did with Cipolini.

Don't worry, Dim. I'm sure EBH has another stage win in his legs. It is a shame to see Wiggins go out with the form he's got, but maybe he can carry it through to the Vuelta.

Im as worried about the fact Uran lost 3 minutes. Had a crazy idea he could actually challenge gesink for white early in the mountains.

I wonder if we'll see what EBH can do in mountains now. He did well in the Dauphine, would be nice to see what he can do riding his own pace instead of killing himself for Brad. Sooner or later he'll have to find out what kind of rider he wats to be.

Surely Garmin will go for green with Hushovd now? Get him in a break on a mountain stage like he did the other year..

Take your trolling elsewhere.

Comfortably the best sprinter in the world 4 years running allows you to discuss GOAT status, whether you dislike him or not.

you were rude and unfair.

someone said something outrageous like put a train for greipel and he smokes anyone. that's a lie. put htc for greipel and cav in greipel's wheel and he will smoke him like he does.

the train does not make him faster or with better acceleration.

cav wins because he is the best. today it was easy.

perfectly put. it helps to have the train, but the bottom line is no one is faster. period.
