If he really is improving, then there's no reason to assume he can't contend for the Top-5 anymore. This is optimistic of course, but quite a few contenders have been eliminated.

it is a shame that yesterday stage didn't come a day a later or we had a rest day before it or something.

i still cant see him improving enough to be great in the mountains but we will see.

he is at similar time as ac yes?

Not impressed in the slightest bit with LL Sanchez, where is the sense of accomplishment and victory when you sit on and not share the workload then attack in the final 200 meters? I'm not saying it wasn't *smart* racing, but look at Voeckler he worked his tail off the whole day, it would have seemed more apropos if he had won the stage.

Also, well done Thor!!! He really did honor the yellow jersey and did it justice. That's the way it should be done.

Lulu worked the whole day and did his share. In the last 20km or so Voeckler made it clear he was going for yellow and not for a stage win, so he got a much bigger share of the work. That is normal in the Tour, happens all the time. Voeckler gets the jersey for doing all the work in the last part. Casar and Lulu got to fight for the stage.

Voeckler knew he'd get yellow, though. He was more interested in the time gap. Lulu's goal was the stage win. Both got what they wanted.

Nice finish for Tom Danielson. Now clearly the GC guy for Garmin. Will be interesting to see how he handles the role.

:D Well before that the GC men are going to have a hard time prying the yellow jersey off Tommy V's back, if history is any indication. Plus Tommy V does not show any signs of being weaker than the last time he held yellow for days. What was that, 2004? I think he's stronger than 2004. The GC guys have a tiger by the tail.

I think Leon Luis sanchez could pose a problem also. a guy is normally borderline Top 10-15. Nothing in this tour will surprise me.

voeckler deserved the win. even hoogerland did. but wheel sucking sanchez won in the end. i guess this compensates rabo for their dissapointment with gesink.

After his few second loss today he'll pretty much be even with Bertie, yes.

He improved by leaps and bounds since yesterday. He has a rest day tomorrow, and then two more days till Luz Ardiden. He could still do it.

I've clearly caught the optimistic vapours :p
