Hopefully Vino will strike a deal with Movistar where Piti will grant the podium spot to Nibali in exchange for Astana pulling for Nairo, while Bertie will take side action betting his 07 TDF trophy against Vino's Olympic Gold and his 2012 Vuelta trophy against Valverde's '15 LBL, that Froome beats Quintana, while agreeing to have his team help launch the two with 8km to go.

For Quintana to have a chance of overhauling Froome's lead he needs to have him isolated near the top of the Croix de Fer and attack before the summit. It would help him if he has a teammate or two up the road to help him through the valley before the Alpe too.

If Froome is with Quintana at the bottom of Alpe D'Huez and still has a couple of doms with him then there is no chance Quintana takes over 2 and a half minutes unless Froome completely blows up.

Except Valverde has *never* podiumed a TDF before, I doubt he will give that up so willingly

For those getting carried away with Quintana's superiority over Froome at the finish today, remember that Froome had to chase back on when he had a mechanical. It might not seem like anything but every little effort over threshold counts

Sounds convenient, it looks more likely he's suffering a bit in the last two days, while Quintana is quite strong in the 3th week as usual.
And what that a mechanical anyway? Or Andy gear shifting technique? :D

...or a convenient faked mechanical at a very critical moment of evident duress, pending isolation and the inevitable Nibali attack before the summit, thus neutralizing the events for the troubled yellow jersey?

Piti does love his lower podium spots....

I would be willing to guess that he has more wins than podiums over the course of his career.

If you keep talking like that people will think you're a sky employee.

:D Ive been reading too much on the Third Reich recently! It was just a joke as its funny to read the same anti-posts in lots of threads.

Anyway, hoping for a good stage today, it has a lot of potential.

Events can be viewed and interpreted differently depending on many factors. It is just too much of a coincidence the timing of Froome's incident. I don't believe it.

Wait?

So you think Froome sensed Nibalis will to attack and faked a mechanical in order to prevent it? But then, when Nibali did attack, he still had the power to ride back to the group within like 3 minutes?

Why would he fake it? He clearly had the power to get back on..

Froome will suffer a bit, but lose the race after being punched out by a spectator. Quintaka crashes out. Contador struggles but makes it up to spare his position. Nibali, meanwhile, powers on hard and takes the stage and Tour win. It was the strategy all this time that Nibali was bluffing his weakness.

Quintana to attack about 70km's to late. I really, really hope Nibali can take crush Valverde's dream of a Tour podium

To win Nairo needs to distance Froome on the Croix de Fer and have support in front. I can't see that happening. More likely, Stoneface attacks from the bottom of the Alpe.
1. Nairo, 2. The Shark, 3. Dawg

GC: 1. Dawg, 2. Nairo, 3. The Shark (hopefully)

MP: Dawg

I'll take a bet on that. Although he probably has as many victories as he has second or third places.

I'll take that bet. Disagreed
I just did a quick scan of his results since his return after his ban so I might have made a miscalculation sonewhere, but according to my count he has 33 victories, 32 second places and 29 third places.

Who do you think can win this stage if not a GC rider takes it? Kangert or Anacona maybe?

Can someone please answer me? I want to bet on some jokers and dark horses today!

There will be no win for an eventual break today. The heads of state will fight it out.

I really don't know who will be in yellow after this stage. Logic says Froome but I sense Froome is weakening while Quintana seems to be getting stronger. Froome did say after yesterday he was trying to keep something in the tank for today - he will need it if Quintana goes early enough as he most surely will. While he is not a rider I like much I'd prefer Froome wins this tour if only for the crap he has endured from some idiots. Quintana's day(s) will surely come in the years ahead - he is only 25 after all. Hard to believe he is still so young - quite scary really. Like AC in 2007. If Nibali can back up his ride yesterday that would be awesome. Can't wait.

I know there are a very big chance of that. But because EVERYONE means that the GC guys will take the stage, there are very good odds on Kangert etc. Maybe Ruben Plaza can win?
