BMC #1. Not sure how the others are going to do. The ideal scenario would be for Astana and Movistar to gain at least a minute on Tinkov and Sky, to make things closer again between the Big 4.

It's not very satisfying to have something like stage 2 to have such a huge bearing on the general classification, and the same is true for a TTT, so if they somehow cancel each other, I'd be ecstatic.

I can't really understand this kind of thinking. It's all part of the race surely? - take your opportunities where you can get them and limit your loses the best you can too.

Stages like stage 2 add to the excitement of the race for me, not detract from them because of the gaps they create on GC. I'd rather gaps on GC now so we get some attacking riding in the mountains rather than everyone just waiting for those final 2km to attack.

BMC to win, and Movistar to do better than most people think.
IAM Cycling also to do well.

1-sky (Froome, porte, G, kennaugh, konig, poels, roche) incredible team for this terrain.
2-bmc at around 15s
3-etixx 25s(despite no Martin still à very strong team)

Tikoff around 50s (not a great team but Alberto might be able to tow them along if not around 1,30 min)
Astana around 1 min 20 ( good team but nibali weak will slow them down)
Movistar 2-2,30min (weak team especially with dowsett not great and Quintana to weak will slow team down).
I think you overestimate the time gaps in TTT's. In the giro the last team was only 1 minute behind. Okay that TTT was 10 km's shorter and it was completely flat so lets say the gaps will be two times bigger. However none of the top gc teams has such a bad TT team that they wont be in the top 10 (maybe we will see a big surprise but that would really come unexpected)

This is funny because Alberto is like the 5th best TTTer on that team.
On flat yes but on this terrain Contador is best in team and top 5 in world. Rogers is good flat, sagan ok but majka no, bennati flat ok poor hills, basso awful, kreuziger can be good can be bad for me depends on Alberto forme.

Majka finished top 10 in the Giro ITT last year... Majka is a very good TT-er.

Team Time Trials are different beast from individual tests. Quite a few sprinters have been REAL TTT powerhorses as they can generate a lot of watts for short-term pull AND recuperate quickly. ITT is about steady performance and endurance over a long period. TTT is much more about short-term power and fast recovery.

F ex Hushovd was one of best TTT-men in the world while never a top-notch time triallist individually.

Orica would have been the favorites, but because of all their injuries/abandons gotta go with BMC, then Movistar, then Sky

Tejay to take yellow.

Just wondering if Tejay does take yellow, has any Tour winner ever lost yellow twice, yet won overall?

Majka is good, Sagan can be fantastic (look at California, prologue of Swiss, he has a big engine to pull the team) Rogers is very good (and not just flat) Kreuzigeur is a very good TT'er, Alberto is strong, Tosatto has been part in TTT wins before and has a big engine. Not sure about Michael Valgren, his inexperience might be a problem, but he has won TTT's before.

That's a pretty good team to me.

I know LeMond lost it twice in 1989 before taking it on the final stage. There might be others.

Can you please give me a single quote from your post that actually brought something valuable into discussion?

If I was a betting man I would put 20$ on Astana. I think they will be close.

Sky sleep everyone in his own personal room
that should show in TTT
easy win for Sky 20+ seconds from second place

I live alone with no houses within 1km of mine. Can't wait to absolutely kill it in a TT.

This TTT can be a killer. Just like other people have said it here, I predict big differences because of the type or parcours and the timing of trial.

Anybody with predictions for which 5 riders there'll be at the end for BMC, SKY, Tinkoff, Astana and Moviestar?

It would be hilarious to see Froome blow up his team mates on the last climb :D
