If Froome crashed and needed medical attention, I fully expect the GC riders to stop near him and wait until he can continue again before resuming the race. We need Nibali who waits for no one.

There's a difference between waiting and not attacking. The should have gone on. Waiting in this situation is a joke.

most likely would've been a futile attack anyway
may have taken 30 seconds only to lose it half way up the 10km climb
