It just seems to be a race killing tempo. Just above what world class cyclists like Kwiat or Nieve could sustain for the whole climb - not supersonic. But enough to drop anyone on a bad day, and way too hard for anyone to think about attacking.

I meant Heras ca. 2001-2003, but a Beltran reference would have been equally appropriate.
