With Bakelants and Gautier in the break I suppose AG2R will not go hard on Col de Vars, which decrease their chances of dropping Froome on Izoard

Bardet has a much bigger chance to win from the GC group than Bakelants and Gautier from the break.

Break will have around 4 min at the bottom of Izoard which will be enough for Mollema.

But Mollema isn't the most explosive one or the best climber from the group (in this shape). He needs to go at an unguarded moment again, like in the stage he won. Then he can 'keep going' as he calls it.

Chris Froome (Team Sky) declared to letour.com this morning: "It's an iconic mountain. It's going to be the decider. Izoard is the Mont Ventoux of this Tour de France. If there's an opportunity, I'll go for the stage. With Mikel Landa, we have a good chance to play. And if everything goes well today, it will be a big step forward."

I think only Pauwels is better but that guy doesn't win anything. I think his shape is sufficient again to drop the rest if he rides clever.

Sky's setting decent tempo. The more they tire the climbers, they'll be less explosive uphill. Especially this deep in the race.

I really hope Atapuma gets this. Will be a great outcome after some tough months with a lot of bad luck. And it bodes really well for La Vuelta. We need an agressive Atapuma there!!
