If Froome wins this Tour, it will likely be the Tour where he wears the yellow jersey for the fewest days of all his wins

The TTT advantage has gone for Froome and Porte pretty much. The race has become more interesting already with one of the advantages to some riders more about clawing back time now. Little wonder there were a few smiling faces on the front of the bunch.

Froome seems to get better when he is down on time.

It was a rude awakening for Bernal in the TDF - Part of his learning curve.

Can someone clarify the 3km rule. Could Quintana have ridden to the 3km mark, then wait for a bike change? Is the 3km rule for mechanicals as well as crashes? Thanks!

Yes, he could have. But Unzue said both his wheels were completely gone (unfortunately).
Then he could have done a runner like CF in the mountains that time.

One has to ask the question; Why GVA and TVG are in the front group when their leader Porte is held up in a crash ?

They want the yellow jersey after the TTT.

BMC is disentegrating. Plus, you want to keep Teejay in the front group in case Porte pulls a... Porte. Caruso was involved in the crash so TeeJay was left.

He could have but he actually broke both wheels when he hit a curb, he couldn’t ride further.

WTH?
The finish result was completely expected, but the GC picture!?

It helps. As Froome has to attack but Thomas is ahead so it’s going to get a little nasty.
