Those climbs aren't as steep as Marie-Blanque. It won't be an issue, IMO, if he has the same legs as in the Pyrenees. He can handle long climbs.

A healthier bodyfat percentage has advantages, also. More energy, and a positive effect on the immune system. Not everyone can starve themselves to death M. Rasmussen-style and still perform.
