Silly to use Bernal and Quintana dropping as evidence that WVA is unbelievable unless you also want to use some of the remaining risers who haven’t dropped as counter evidence. I don’t think this is any crazier than previous pulls from Wout in the Tour and Dauphiné. But Bernal, who has been barely hanging on this season, has finally snapped.

Everybody talking about WVA dropping Bernal. What about the other 30 riders that are ahead of him too? Bernal is cooked that's why he's dropped
Yeah, it's pretty obvious that Bernal is completely in the dumps today. Wout van Aert is incredible, but not any more than he has been on other mountain stages this year. Bernal either messed up his prep completely or he's carrying some sort of illness, or both. A shadow of what he was last year.

When has Van Aert done anything like this before so late in a stage?

Also people are acting like its never happened before but Kwiatkowski has displayed similar versatility although he's probably lighter.
