Are Ineos and Arkea planning something with all these riders in the break, or are they just after a consolation stage win?

In KOM watch, unless Rolland makes it up, I think fair shot Cosnefroy keeps the jersey. Pacher would need to take both 2nd cat and the first cat I think

Maybe an Uran attack together with Martinez on the Moucherotte. Bettiol and Powless to work on the flat, Uran to gain minutes and take yellow on the last climb.

Everybody who's not Slovenian to attack, Porte on Porte, the rest on Revel.

Would be amusing if after all the mano a mano battles between Sagan and Bennett, Trentin manages to steal the green from both in the end.

It would be extremely funny and it’s not impossible. If Sagan starts to get half hearted about it and Bennett has a serious bad day in the mountains...

On day like today where it takes a while, it can be a lottery who gets into the break.
True but I don't understand why he didn't attack when Benoot and Pedersen went. I think this stage just suits him really, really well

Yeah it's blatant and clearly against the spirit of the sport.
Really hate it.
Worst one from a "killing the spectacle" perspective was Radioshack blocking the road to prevent any Frenchmen getting in the break on Bastille Day in 2010. That didn't even have a purpose as they had no GC interest. Paulinho at least won the stage from that breakaway to give them something.

Worst one from an "unsporting behaviour" perspective is probably the Rabo rolling roadblock in the 2014 Giro Rosa, which was pretty bad, though despite the protestations of Abbott's American support, even if Mara dropped Vos, no way she took the near 2 minutes she needed on PFP that day.
