Hirschi again strong in his attack. Lets see if he is the one who can bridge (out of many still trying).

I think people are being a bit unfair on Sagan. Bennett is supposed to be hard to drop on that kind of terrain. Other than big bunch sprint speed, his two main strengths are wheel surfing in the McEwen style and not being quite as easy to get rid of as most other sprinters. It’s not like he was having trouble getting rid of Kittel or Groenewegen or something. Sagan can still drop Bennett and has done so repeatedly, he just can’t do it at will.

Bora should be dropping Oss back to help Sagan. Kamna is fair enough as he can win the stage but Oss has no shot
Why? Sagan is toast. He had two races he had to step up for, 58km on stage 15 and 44.5km today. Should be no problem for a 7 time green jersey winner and a 3 time world champion. He failed miserably on both. Just a shell of his formal self.

Bora have either messed this up or given up on Sagan getting green
Given up... Sagan might be saying politically correct things about him trying to fight for it but the reality is that the green jersey race is over, bar an accident for Bennett.

Surprised Rolland ain't getting forward. Thought he'd go for KOM today.
Tried at the top of the first categorized climb. Now it seems to be impossible to bridge. Hirschi also reeled in by Jumbo. Maybe, if the gap is not too big, there is another chance on the next climb.

I really hate the 'blocking the road to prevent further attacks' tactics. If I were a pro-rider, I would just try to jump away for the heck of it whenever they do this.

Edit: I see I'm not the only one here with a dislike for that. Good.

The short stage action has worked in the Tour TBH.

JV blocking Martin shows that nobody will be able to do a long range attack unless you do it in front of their train in the Madeleine. Which is a suicide. So expect another mountain sprint stage. Lol.
