He got dropped on the uncategorised climb at the start iirc, so yes, he's climbing very badly.Well that explains why Lotto sent the rest of their team back to Ewan and Kluge. It didn’t really occur to me that they could be close to OOT. Ewan must really suck at climbing at the moment.
He himself said he's the worst climber in the race. He said he doesn't mind short steep climbs but the long ones are too much for him.Well that explains why Lotto sent the rest of their team back to Ewan and Kluge. I don't think he can make it to Champs Élysées...Wonder if Caleb had the rest day blues ? If he didn't he has no chance surviving the next few stages.
If Bora rides it very fast tomorow till first climb and then strong breakway takes over it will be the end of Ewan in this tour.Caleb Ewan got saved by 2 minutes, Cousin won't get saved today...
It's not looking good for him and he might have some company............I don't think he can make it to Champs Élysées...
Bernal really is having some back and other issues. I'm wondering if he may be a DNS. (Tomorrow would seem to be a good day to begin recovery/therapy.)It's not looking good for him and he might have some company............
He already started his recovery by going very easy today. They probably know by now what happened. They will pull him out only if he start hurting.Bernal really is having some back and other issues. I'm wondering if he may be a DNS. (Tomorrow would seem to be a good day to begin recovery/therapy.)
It was poison ivy?? How bad can it be for a tiny man like him??
- Quintana cannot attack from far away because is more worried about his poison ivy recovery.
I doubt it's his back...he isn't in shape....he has to eat humble pie after saying he wouldn't ride for Thomas or Froome.Bernal really is having some back and other issues. I'm wondering if he may be a DNS. (Tomorrow would seem to be a good day to begin recovery/therapy.)
What else shoud they do tomorrow.?Take a rest day or take it from the break like today.?Bora might not do that tomorrow though. Is the uncategorised climb before the intermediate hard enough for them to try?

IF Bennet is OK with limit DQS should help them to get Ewan out of game.Stage in Paris is worths two stages. .
Ineos fans got their hopes up until Kamna said not today my friends..............
It was designed with July 14th in mind. Otherwise, they could have finished at Stade de Neige.Actually I like this stage design, though I wish there was less flat between the last two climbs - can't help that geographically though. It reminds me a bit of the great Pescocostanzo stage in the 2008 Giro.
However, the issue for this stage is pacing rather than the stage itself in a vacuum, I believe, though there's not much ASO could realistically have done about it as a result; this stage was never going to see meaningful GC action when placed on the eve of the all-important MTF of the race.
He was smiling and joking, I think he hopes to try for a stage win but he's running out of time. I don't see it happening anyway. He said when the race started his back was better than it was but still a problem. Sounds like Ineos had no healthy team leaders or in form leaders for the Tour and Carapaz was aiming for the Giro so his form wasn't going to be great either. Maybe they should have just stage hunted and put Bernal in the Giro with Thomas or left Carapaz in the Giro and Thomas in the Tour.Bernal really is having some back and other issues. It was +35:25 for Cousin... Beard over...
The Tour lost a lot of hair today.
It will be full gas anyway because Bora cant let the break go unless Sagan is in it in which case DQS will go full gas unless Bennett is in it in which case Bora will go full gasI don’t know, because I don’t know if the uncategorised climb is hard enough to drop anybody. If it’s only slightly tougher than false flat there isn’t much purpose in going berserker and the energy is better saved. If there’s any terrain where they could get rid of Bennett than it will be full gas from the start as usual.
Surprised about the complaining. That was honestly more gc action than I expected for today
