Some of those “fans” on the slopes ought to be prosecuted getting so close with no masks on. Ridiculous

Very well ridden by the top 3. Pogacar was right to gamble on getting Roglic's wheel at the end, even though it might have cost him quite a few seconds after then blowing up.

A little mystified by Kuus, guess he overestimated what he had left in the tank and it left Roglic isolated.

I wonder if the plan was for Lopez to bridge over to Izagurre on the Madeleine, but that that went out of the window when Bahrain ran a good tempo.

Porte vs Lopez for the podium now is a nice showdown.

Yeah. Angrilu and Zoncolon cause a lot bigger gaps. Been a weird year
With the Zoncolan it's the easier final 2 km, those who are stronger on the steep stuff/have something left in the tank can push a bigger gear and the gaps increase.
That said, I prefer to ride stuff like the Zoncolan where you can actually ride/grind at a constant rhythm instead of walls after walls like this, reminds me of the final km of Forcella Zovo.

Not really, Zoncolan had less than 2 minutes in the top 10 last time out, Angliru the same in 2017, and even 2011 had small groups, likewise 2013. Think your memory is tricking you

Congrats for Lopez, amazing win, well deserved.
As for Roglic, he did his best. Kuss was amazing but his help wasn't that much, not sure why he attacked.

Well done MAL.
Landa gave it a go, but just didn’t have it.
Roglic now looks like he has Yellow bar a big collapse
Pogacar fought hard and clever but is just marginally weaker than Roglic.
Sepp Kuss may be the strongest climber in the world lol

I think Roglic told Kuss to go, to later bridge the gap.

The important part was putting time into Pogacar, who is a threat on the TT.

The profile lied
The profile didn’t lie, it’s just that at the end of the day the best way to understand how hard a climb is isn’t a profile but actually riding it. Other reports said a similar thing, that it is insanely irregular and that’s what makes it truly that hard
